Most fans haven't thought long term about how Saudi sportswashing will affect the sport in the future. It's just 'Thank you master Turki!!!'. Makes me sick. Turki owning The Ring is another step in their attempted monopolisation and has massively lowered my estimation of The Ring as a result. Their ultimate goal is similar to Norris and the IBC / Mob in the 40s and 50s - total control of the sport, it's cultural influence and it's (massive) money flow.

I pray to God that Saudi pulls out of their money sink at some point (likely imo). Turki will absolutely fail without their national backing. Will be hilarious to watch.

The people that run Boxrec are a bunch of inbreds. They do not believe in freedom of speech on their forums, and have a very weak mindset when it comes to debating, getting very easily offended. Their forums are dead as a dodo, because no one is allowed to have an opinion.

The way they now hide the number of rounds and details of a fighters record unless you are signed in is pathetic.

Its a good resource for fight results but run by a bunch of clueless inbreds. The WBA should set up their own fight results/schedule page and put them out of business, they deserve it.

If it makes you feel any better. By 2030, the Saudis will probably pull the plug when it comes their sports endeavors. Saudi Vision 2030 is the end date where they want everything to end. Plus even now most promoters and sanctioning bodies are starting to be at odds with Turki and co. Give it a year or two, and they will be heating each other's guts.

Jim Norris wasn't a bad guy. Everyone who's last name ends with Norris, isn't that bad. :chuck:

If a certain Norris controlled Boxing, I would support him (to save myself).

People forget the problems only having 1 belt like the IBC days can cause. They aren't thinking ahead.

And I'm no fan of the US Supreme Court but the US Supreme Court can't bail us out this time even if they wanted to.

I don't think the Saudis are pulling out. The goal of all these ventures is permanent influence that doesn't derive from the burning of fossil fuels. This is not a fad of theres. I fear we will be stuck with Turki and Turki Jr and Turki III forever.

The thing with Fightfax though is its just terrible. Its not a threat at all. Going on that site makes my eyes bleed.

Listen I know the whole anti WBA speal and I agree with it. They started it they're trying to replace boxing rec yada yada. We all get that. History should be sacred and above that. Record keeping needs to be on a pedestal.

Turki or not, I'm just happy we get to see fights that would have been impossible or marinated to death. I'm not sure why fans are not happy with that. Before Turki, Boxing was such in a bad state and almost everyone is ducking one another protecting their zeros and wanting big payday fighting overmatched opponents. Be honest to yourself. Was Boxing doing great before Turki? What do you think of the overpriced PayPerView with bad card?

As for the WBA-Boxrec. Boxrec not doing their job properly, and I'm hoping for Turki's plan to succeed of removing these useless alphabet titles in the sport.

If this plan succeeds you can't have rematches anymore with the sport becoming constipated. And Turki loves rematches. So it'd be a calamity to get rid of the belts. The belts are filters and with everyone and their grandmother having an undefeated record we need them more then ever. Top guys don't fight each other without belts on the line anymore imagine if we had 1 what looks like?

You don't need titles for rematches. We have rankings for that

I'm saying if you give a challenger rematch and theres 1 belt it ruins the division. Then what if its 1-1, you got to do a trilogy now.

Its not going to ruin the division and having Trilogy fights are amazing. Legendary fights most of us remembers are fights with rematches. I really don't see why this is an issue.

    It clogs up the division.

Just look at the last time boxing had this setup like roughdiamond alluded to.

Is there any difference of it right now? What we see today are 4 different corrupt orgs and overpriced PPVs. It is the same thing but we have four bodies controlling boxing right now.

Without the WBA it is misinformation. It should be fact checked!
