Here is probably the best quality version of the knockdown you will see:

Do you think the punch lands to the head, or to the chest?

    Deadly serious bud i'm afraid.
I have no vested interest or agenda with either fighter.
    Simply giving an honest view.
The way Louis falls makes it clearcut for me.

You don't see his neck and head jolt back from what (imo) cannot be mistaken for a punch to the head?

    Look at his neck
And the back of his head, jostling and shaking.

By that i mean his body mechanicals if that makes sense, it appears as if he is being lifted from a lower position than if he took that shot to the chin.

Look how his head gets pounced backwards.
    You don't see that?

I see his shoulder blades acting as though he took the hit below the chin Rez.

Looking at the short version, i see his left shoulder and more importantly lat muscle react to the blow which makes it no doubt for me.

No doubt about it....watch the point just below his left shoulder blade at impact.

All ringside accounts say he was hit under the chin. If you look at the angle of Jim's forearm as Louis falls that seems correct. The other angle, from lower slightly obscured by the ringropes, looks more convincing in this regard.

If you check out the replay on this clip at :38, you can definitely see Joe's head jolt.

Chin shot for sure. Neck jolting, head twisting. Obvious.

It hit him in the head. You can see Louis' neck jolt quickly to the side as the punch lands.
