    Being taken out..! ?

    Joe Calzaghe has retired..

Ricky Hatton has been sparked out..

Carl Froch was out boxed, heart and power saved him..maybe Bernard Hopkins will take him out soon..!?

These past few years, us brits have had something to shout about with are fighters.

    But now..

It seems to me, the empire is slowly being taken over.

And i'm not really confident for David Haye...

Nah we are a powerful boxing nation

There are more on the way through

We mightn't always have very top level guys at any given moment but we always have some good uns

We've had a very good few years though I guess

When they go new boys will come through and replace them.

Don't rule Froch out I'm sure he can stay at the top for a while and Khan, Haye, Witter, Woods and Mitchell are all fighting for world titles soon.

Careers will come to an and and others will start. You could make the argument that British boxing is over at any point in history, there have always and will always be the 'next' British boxer.

Old generation retire, New Generation come through, we have a lot of prospects that may win world titles, only problem is that there some way from challenging for anything yet.

No mate. Point taken but I've heard the British boxing is dead line to many times before to believe it. This is a Boxing nation.

Haye will beat both Klitchskos. Woods and Witter are finished. But Kell Brook has potential as does Kevin Mitchell and Billy Joe Saunders is guaranteed to be a world champ. So is Gavin he if he realises his power isn't great and he need to box clever. Jefferies is a beast. DeGale needs to change trainers, maybe going to Farnell and getting sparring with Gavin
    would benefit both men.

Amir has his weaknesses but is with the best coach in the world and should be okay.

And there are some kids in my local gym who imo could go to the Olympics no problem.

We have been spoilt of late to be honest. Lets hope some of the younger ones come through rather than the scene dropping off.

The problem British Boxing has is coaching imo. We always turn out good fighters, but most of them are aggressive fighters who dont know how to protect themselves. Their defence is their attack and they get away with that for long periods, but that is why they always lose when they step up because they dont fight intelligently enough, they are too gung ho and the pay the price against good technical fighters who exploint there lack of defence.

Hatton and Hamed had terrible defences. Hamed starting getting hammered as he stepped up in class as did Hatton. I know people will say Hamed was not in love with Boxing etc, but Hamed was being flawed be Alicea and being tagged and having trouble with
Medina before he fought the likes of Johson,Kelly,McCullough. All of whom were nailing him.

    Calzaghe nailed by >Kessler,Reid,Eubank,Hopkins,Jones.

Barry McGuigan paid the price against Cruz because he can only fight one way. Letting his hands go.

I think we can already see how easy Kevin Mitchell is to hit.

Khan is all about letting his hands go to. No defence either. The Barrera fight dont make a career.
