Is the cancelled fight against Peterson a good thing for Khan?

In the sense that he can now spend some more time with new Strength and conditioning coach Ruben Tavares? It couldn't have been good preparation losing Ariza mid camp. Now Khan can get a couple of months of work changing things up a little. He will likely now have a more David Haye kinda camp and it will be interesting to see how it differs from Ariza's S&C program.

Would his new training methods have any influence on his fighting style? Could we see Khan maybe slow down a little? This is what I have never understood about Khan. I am not a fan of his fighting style. He has so much speed on his shots he doesn't need to keep flurrying. He could be a little more patient and pick his shots better. His footwork with Roach is all about going forward but lacking a plan b. Could Khan ever adapt his style to play counter puncher? Would like him to throw in a few feints a little head movement, just place the shots, ala Cotto. He's a great example of a guy who can fight an offensive fight but yet time his punches so well and he's not very quick handed but he hits the mark and has landed punches on the best Pacman, Mayweather.

Khan on the other hand seems to be too hyper, so much excess movement around the ring, just saps his energy. He should be more calculated, methodical. Amazing how he hasn't developed some ring IQ whilst at the wild card. Seems he is pretty much stuck with the style he has now, but would like to see a little more from Khan. I know he's still being trained by Roach so we cannot expect anything too radical, aside from perhaps a different "brand" of conditioning (remains to be seen how effective)

Or does Tavares bring a little more to the table? Anyone else know much about this guy? In what way will he benefit Khan?
