Is the Cotto-Trout fight going to be on PPV or SHO?

I was looking through the schedule today, and I saw it on the PPV (coming up) channel... and it said the fight would be $34.95. But then, I later see a fight commercial that says it'll be on Showtime. I check, and sure enough, it's on the schedule. So, which is it?

    Cotto has horrible marketing skills.

LOL If you have DirectTV, check out Channel 121. It says, "Upcoming: Boxing: Cotto vs. Trout HD- LIVE." And if you skip ahead to the night of the fight, it says, "$34.95 (price non-refundable)."

They might be trying to squeeze money out of the boneheads who don't have Showtime.

Last time I read/heard it was free on Showtime, but in PR they are putting it on PPV. That's probably the confusion going on. Many people in the island are upset and are even going to boycott(not watch or not even order the fight) I dont blame them at all...

It is both. If you have Showtime you can watch it there. If you dont then you can get it on PPV. Which I always thought was dumb. You might as well sign up for Showtime for a month which is around $15 a month and then cancel before the next billing cycle. I used to do this back when I was a kid and lived with my rents. I would actually buy the channel with the remote that night then call the next day pretending to be my dad and saying he never ordered the channel.

That is exactly what it is. Showtime will let you watch the fight for a PPV price if you don't subscribe to the channel. Normally, it is usually just $20, but I guess since Cotto is a high caliber and name fighter, the price went up.

Another way to do it is call the provider on Friday and tell them you want to preview Showtime before you commit to purchasing the channel. They get this request all the time and oblige a free preview. A few years back when I didn't have Showtime, I did this method and ended up with the channel for 2 months.
