I wouldn't compare it to the Holmes era and not close. At least Holmes had tough competition like Cooney, Leon Spinks, Witherspoon, Michael Spinks, Berbick, Norton, Shavers and others.

Lmao **** off... klitshckos would be dominant in ANY era. Haye would be up there (all the old era heavys are around hayes size...)

 

Haye has is fast and has punching power, thats it. Guys like Ali, Frazier, Holmes, Louis etc could fight hard for 15 rounds at a ferocious pace. The only way Haye can go 12 rounds is if he limits his output to about 5 punches a round. He also has terrible footwork. (so much for modern athletes being superior hey)

With Haye, once get past his impressive physic and big mouth, there isn't actually much substance there at all.

The HW division hasn't won a fight of the year since 1996.

The current unified HW Champ cant even sell PPV.

I never said he'd be the best, just that he would be up there. It's always the same with haye ... 'oh he gasses' whats this theory based on? One fight 10 years ago when he'd had about 15 fights against a former champ, carl thompson was no mug and haye took that on a lil too early, it was a good learning experience. On which other occasion has haye actually gassed? I can't think of one..

 

That's the point, he knows his stamina isn't great so fights accordingly when he knows he's in with a guy he can't just bomb out. Do you really think Haye is going to be competitive against someone like Ali or Frazier by getting on his bike and throwing a handful of punches a round, especially in a fight that is scheduled for 15 rounds.

Wlad also gassed badly against Purrity and Brewster and along with his less than brilliant chin, this is also one of the reasons why he fights so cautiously.

It's a total myth that todays heavyweights are superior athletes.

 

as an american, it's more interesting when there are top americans in the heavy division but make no mistake, besides the klits, this division sucks. boring fights and very low skill level. even the klits don't make for enjoyable fights. they dominate their opponents and then usually knock them out late over the past decade. you know their opponents have no chance.
