:-( JC Gomez (44-1 when he fought Vitali) was a good fighter, better than hundreds of boxers who have fought for a world heavyweight title in the past.

 

There was a version of Haye in the 80s called Michael Dokes and Dokes didn't achieve much.
Wlad wouldn't be a long time champ if he was around in the 80's.
Gets beaten by Holmes, Tyson Williams, Tucker and Douglas.

 

I honestly don't see why not, i'm saying he could beat them... I hate it when people throw in 'oh well he couldn't fight 15 rounds'... do you not think that, if todays fighters still thought that long they'd traing harder to increase there stamina, they fight for 12 rounds so don't have to.. we really don't know who'd struggle with 15 rounds unless we'v seen them do it, ints unfair to compare.

I don't agree, i think in any sport, the developments over time are clear, athletes get bigger, stronger, faster. records get broken... we think wow noway will anyone beat that... 5-10 years later it'l get broken (maybe it's due to guys using PEDS) but who knows.. just like tyson said in an interview a few weeks ago.. athletes today are way better equiped nowadays, people don't understand the importance of strength and conditioning coaches, nutrition etc.. back in them days they didn't think so much about it...

I never think it's a fair comparison, but for me as time goes on athletes get better and i'd usually pick them over 'historically' great opponents (depending who they are obviously).

 

the clitshkhoes would have a chance because they are both superheavyweight giants. take away their height and they get owned in any era. on top of that they have zero personality and are boring to watch.

 

Wlad vs Ibragimov would win the award for worst heavyweight title fight of all time, if such a thing existed.

 

You can say that about any fighter, don't be an idiot. That's there height and yet fight accordingly, take that away and they're no longer going to fight in that style.

Take away alis speed and reflexes and he gets owned in any era

Take away foremans power and he gets owned in any era.

Could do that all day long, take away key attributes and theyre no longer the same style of fighter

 

No, it's genuinely bad. Haye is proof of that.
