A case could be made that Sam Langford is the pound for pound GOAT, and he was active from 1902-1926. The man had a successful career from Lightweight to Heavyweight. If he had been given the opportunity, Sam would probably have picked up a few Lineal belts in several weight classes along the way, including Heavyweight.
