Is the HW division "poor" because Wlad is dominating it?

He is one of the most consistant champions for a long time.

Sure, he has three KO losses to B grade opponents, but the last of these happened nearly 10 years ago!!

Since then (and before mind you) Wlad has proven himself to be the best.

Taking on guys like Haye, Brock, Peter, Povetkin, Thompson, Chambers, Chagaev and a few others. All these names were either undefeated or had one loss going against Wlad. Legitimate, top contendors of the HW division.

He has unified, avenged a loss, has a high KO%...but still gets hated on.

Is it because no matter where you look, his opponents have lost to his other opponents, which he has beaten...in a way making the division seem weaker than it really is?

In Lennox Lewis era we had such great fighters as Lou Savarese, Vaughn Bean, Clifford Ettienne, Zeljko Mavrovic in the top 10.

We had such great champions as Michael Moorer, ancient George Foreman, Tommy Morrison and Frans Botha.

The top 5 consisted of an overrated Tua, Michael bloody Grant and a shot to **** Tyson.

Plus John Ruiz was the number 3/4 fighter for the best part of 5 years.

The last era was good, just like this one isn't as bad as people want you to believe. The only reason why I believe a lot of yanks claim it's so poor is because there have been no Americans that have been personalities to ignite the US market. Hence why all of a sudden the true heavyweight champion is playing NFL or NBA.

Upcoming fighters have been hyped the same way as they were in previous eras, but had no chance to really shine because once they fought a Klit they were reduced to "bum of the month" or in this case "heavyweight savior of the month".

But it is somewhat of a weak era. Not close to the weakest ever like some bitter smucks here trying to sell but not a very strong one

Very easy to ascertain the reason for the jealousy and hate.

It is one of the reasons, yes. I think this era is slightly above average with a distinctive ATG ruling over it.

The good thing about this era now is Vitali is gone and Wlad is nearing the end. It may be that Wlad has passed his best point and be increasingly less than 100%. It makes it interesting to see what Wlad can do with the time he has left.

Hang on are people forgetting you had two HW greats in Holyfield and Bowe when Lewis was fighting? Both those fighters could beat Wlad, yet no one in Wlad's era could beat Lewis. I'm sure even the lesser fighters in Lewis's time would be better than the bums we see today.

Its because Wlad is boring to watch and seen as a boring personality,Tyson's 1980s division wasnt great and he dominated it but because Tyson was one of the most exciting fighters ever nobody noticed..

is it Wlad's fault he is the best in an era where he has absolutely no worthy challengers?

    Golota
    Bruno
    Razor Ruddock
    Gary Mason
    Prime Tua
    Tommy Morrison
    Prime Shannon Briggs

All of these guys could beat most of the HW candidates we see today. I could see a prime Golota walk through everyone except Wlad, and even that would be interesting.

Now we have shitty HWs like Fury, Chisora, fat ass Arreola, Windmiller and old man Stiverne as a belt holder. Stiverne couldn't beat anyone on my list.

its poor because the hw champ runs in terror from a rematch from a 38 year retired nevercontender who KOed him in 5 minutes.
Such a debacle has never occurred in the history of HW boxing.

Wlad is fairly good at what he does, but that said, rarely has the championship been of such paucity as now.

can you imagine any hw champ running in fear from retired corrie? theres none that come to mind. This is why Wlad is seen as poor form despite some good defensive but basic skills.

Has a lot to do with Wlad's style and lack of personality outside the ring. I think he is a class act and should be commended on it. His dominance over the division for over a decade leads many to beleive it's weak but if he were gone and the other fighters traded victories the view point would change. Lot of American and British fans don't care for him for various reasons but it can't be denied that he is a dominant champion.
