Definitely not. Sorry if it seems harsh but I'm astounded that anybody could believe that. As said earlier - it isn't a lineal title. Where has this modern day obsession with a P4P title come from? Could it be born out of frustration and then apathy towards making sense of who's 'the' champion in each of the divisions?
If Pound for Pound 1 and 2 fight each other and number 2 wins then yes, it can be directly swapped but if number 10 beats number 1 then number 10 simply climbs up the ladder considerably but doesn't usurp the title of number 1
i voted no.. but depends.. no. 2 always deserve to take over after the #1 loses. but if the no.1 loses to the no.3 or 4. it has to be transferred
Because how can there be a pound for pound title? Are you saying it could be awarded to the winner no matter what just like the ring belt?
Depends how he wins, If he KO's pacman like I believe he will then yes he will be number 1, If he wins a decision then he will be top 3 with the likes of calzaghe and vazquez.
But that is not what this thread is about, there is no official "pound for pound title" and there never should be. If you think he's the number 1 pound for pound, or could be, that's fine.
P4P is like a fantasy league decided by each person based on their opinion of how certain fighters would do against each other if they were the same weight. Theres no such thing as a P4P title and never can be when people are of split opinion of who is their rated number one which there always will be.
If there is no P4P title then what is the point in The Ring Magazine having a P4P top 10? I agree that there is no P4P title and if there is then the Ring Magazine title is equally false.
No it isn't, that is just their own personal rankings just like many web sites and magazines have, including individuals here. It's mythical.
