I heard one of the Fox executives on a podcast the other day say they have over 90% of the best fighters in the world. He also hinted they could just have a "PBC" belt that could replace all other belts.

However, I have exactly one PBC fighter in my top 10 pound for pound rankings and 2 in my top 15. Am I crazy or are they?

Boxing is not MMA no matter what the "suits" try to say and do. Since PBC's inception they've been trying to make it the boxing version of UFC. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

Totally agree! And that goes for all of them DAZN, ESPN....I don't see any of them taking over like UFC. Be nice if they realized that and just started to work together more than they have.

For a while, I thought they had maybe the best collective of fighters based on sheer numbers throughout multiple divisions. But Top Rank has vastly improved it's stable within the past year with the additions of Taylor, Inoue, Fury, Bterbiev etc.. Top Rank have the more highly skilled caliber of fighters(Loma, Bud, Beterbiev, Fury, Inoue, Taylor) while DAZN has more Superstar/Box Office fighters (Canelo, AJ) while PBC somewhere in between (Spence, Wilder)

I believe Al Haymon underestimated how much of Mayweather's success was due to the dedication to his craft in and out of the ring to make him a huge box office star. It seems the delusions stem from them believing they can make another Money Mayweather without doing the Pretty Boy Floyd struggles.. They had such deep stable in multiple weight classes yet rarely matched their top guys until there wasn't a demand for the machups..

Not delusional (they don't believe that themselves), just trying to spread disinformation suiting their agenda.
The only thing that worries me about that statement is that it looks like they are actually planning to come up with their own belt, when they believe they can get away with it.

They are losing the war and fast. Now have the third best stable behind Top Rank and Matchroom. I still think Matchrooms plan of signing the best amateurs, Eddie the salesman, cheap price point, stacking cards will see them win out in the end. Not many promoters put on under cards like the one this weekend

Losing the war how? Because Wilder lost? They are not behind Top Rank, but in front of them. Hearns is the 3rd stable who is desperately trying to get AJ vs Fury.

I don't think PBC are delusional. Their fans definitely are though.

What seems not to have been publicised too widely is that while Top Rank are up for sale, PBC is as well. Without the belts or marque champions, PBC and by extension FOX will lose the ratings and commercial battle. To combat that, PBC has to do things to prop up their value while limiting the things that reduce their value. This is the conundrum they face, do they put their champions against each other for more appealing matchups which in turn reduces their stocks of champions. You may create a breakout champion but you can also end up with simply less champions and less dates.

PBC fighers go out of their way to create publicity, I think moreso than other promotional outfits, because they simply dont have the fights to keep their guys relevant.

Hearns stable isn’t vastly superior to Haymons right now,

Haney, Garcia, AJ, GGG to name a few

I hope the PBC do make their own belt. They will lose so much credibility, if they do so.

No doubt about it. I think if you asked me what is the last thing we need in boxing? I would reply, "more belts."

mayweather fought the best at their best at least early on as pretty boy.

These PBC guys just fight cans & turn up afterwards . They rot to atrophy year in year out facing subpar competition.. all to keep the O in tact.

Mikey Garcia isn't under Hearns. He's a free agent.
