Who's considered the best fighter that Rigondeaux has beaten(as a pro)?

Has he beat anyone as highly rated as Shimoda, who Rico ktfo?

Rigondeaux, got kd'ed, and only managed a split decision against Cordoba, who doesn't appear to be too highly rated?

Pros are way overrated, there are many amateurs way better than many pros. It doesn't matter if he hasn't faced a " name " pro opponent. If I sound like I am bragging too much I apologize. We Cubans know what our boxers are capable of even right from their pro start. The Cuban fighters are very different compared to the other pros, they start with more than 200 National amateur bouts and 50 to 70 International amateur bouts.

Bro, call it like you want but Rigo " schooled " Cordoba. Rigo had only 7 pro fights going against an ex-World Champion with more than 40 pro fights, who was way taller and also a southpaw. And even still Cordoba couldn't touch Rigondeaux, that so called knockdown was a class act, yes Rigo's gloves touched the floor for a slight moment but that was it. Rigo could had ended that fight after that wicked 1 punch body shot but decided to keep on boxing and that costed him great criticism for doing that.

Some say that he " ran " after the 6th round until the end but they don't understand the Cuban style. They teach them that when they are ahead to just cruise by to the victory with no need to " engage " and that's what he did. Rigo still dominated the later rounds as every time that Cordoba came in he got out punched cleanly. So, the Cordoba bout was a clear win for Rigondeaux but he learned that most fans in the pros don't " appreciate " the sweet science as what they want to see is a " fight " and not a boxing match.

In his next bout, Rigo stepped it up big time and TKO'd Casey in the first. Ramos will end up similar to Casey. ;)

Guess we'll just have to see. I think the fight will be closer than you think. I don't think Rigo will get a ko or tko, except for maybe stoppage on cuts.

I think Ramos will really make a name for himself with this fight.

Can't remember the last time I saw a guy who was as talented as Ramos who hated to get hit as much as he did. Dominick Guinn maybe? I don't know. Any how Ramos was way to passive in his last fight and you can bet he'll get hit plenty against Rigo.

I like the match-up but to be honest I'm scared it could be a snooze-fest.

All the "don't like to get hit" stuff aside, I think the last fight(Shimoda) was a big challenge and learning experience for Ramos. It was a big step up in the level of competition(obviously for a belt), against a larger left handed opponent, with an awkward fighting style. I thought that guy jumped around, and in and out, like a drunken ******.

I believe it was a head butt that caused the cut, but eventually Ramos figured things out, and knocked his ass out. Had to be a big confidence builder for Rico.

I'm betting that during that last fight and since, Rico has matured a lot. Rigondeaux may ultimately prove to be too much for him right now, but I'm betting Ramos will give him a good, close fight.
