I just checked their p4p list, I will admit it's seems like a pretty balanced list, maybe they've learned their lessons. I can admit that perhaps I am wrong on this one at this time.
Yeah they weren’t the only ones with Broner. It felt like all the media were trying to convince us that he was the goods especially to the naked eye when you see that he’s recognized as a “4 division champion”. Same for Mikey Garcia. But lately they have been balanced though.
No. The Ring Magazine lost whatever credibility it once had due to its complicity in the ratings scandal in 1976.
What a crock of big dog ****! 7 out of the 10 ranked P4P fighters are not from the U.S. And I think only one of the top 10 is Golden Boy Promotions. Some of you fools walk around with a chip on your shoulder just making **** up to be offended. Lol
I've always found ring to be highly biased. I remember KO magazine was far more objective and reputable
I think the rankings are a good start. GGG is number one I think on reputation alone. Not sure he is the best middleweight currently.
Just to clarify though, by the very definition of being owned by golden boy means they have a 'conflict of interest', don't blame me, check what the term means.
I always preferred KO back in the day, pretty sure it was owned by 'ring magazine' at the time but was a better magazine, I had a subscription.
From what I've noticed over the years they do tend to favour fighters of American origin or those on the American circuit. Their heavyweight top 10 has been mainly based off hyping fighters and cult-popularity than in ring performance or wins. Miller, Kownacki, Breazeale, Rivas, now Hrgovic Certain cult fighters can maintain high rankings whilst dining out on bums between losses: Ortiz and Hunter Whilst other unpopular fighters get drop asap: Pulev And then there are certain fighters that just have never gotten a ranking: Chisora It seems like a popularity contest judged by America at times
It's a USA jizz rag. Let's be honest. Still the Ring belt is the top belt in boxing for some reason...
Boxing fans love history. I do respect the belt in a way when it is attached a clear dominant champion, but then again you could say the same for every belt. Unfortunately, sometimes they will jump through hoops to get the belt on the guy they want. In which case, what is the point of it?
