Is the scale of Golovkin vs Canelo being overestimated?

1. We don't know the 15M offer was real, Even if it was it was prior to GGG scalping Jacobs so I don't see how that is relevant (as if its a negative anyway). We don't know if 15M is even reasonable.(I admit I would do it if I were GGG)

2. Golovkin is much closer to Canelo in terms of being a draw than Hopkins was to Oscar, Of course he is going to jump at the chance for that kind of $$$$


The situations are similar but not the same. I could go into more differences but I do agree with some of what you are saying and respect you did the fact checking which I'll take your word on.

I know you are a Canelo fan and so you will be turned against Golovkin because of all the heat your boy gets from GGG fans (and the wider boxing community) and can understand you see Golovkin as over-hyped but surely you will concede that Canelo should have just fought him when he had the WBC belt and Golovkin would have got mando money (far less than 15M I would venture).

Plus, we could very well be getting the fight in september so…..we all win!

 

Ggg desperately needs a legacy defining win. You would think 15 million is enough to entice anyone to take the legacy defining fight.

Me thinks GGG and K2 are holding out to Cash in.

 

If you mean waiting for the biggest possible purse against Canelo, maybe, I could believe that at present.
(don't discount BJS fight to become undisputed as legacy defining)
If you mean they are not confident versus Canelo and will cash out against him then….no, I can't believe that.

 

The fans would love to see Golovkin knock the feathers off El Pollo....................Golovkin would catch that chicken and knock him out cold, that's why El Pollo and the woman want-to-be Oscar will never fight him.
