Is the title of 'lineal champion ' just nonsense?

It’s become far less relevant and honestly doesn’t hold much relevance now.

No. It is the Championship of ALL boxing! "There can only be one!"

 

Yes and no. It makes sense only at a given timeframe when a fighter has clearly cemented himself as the best in his division, regardless of other “alphabet champions” being present. But the issue is that sometimes people can question whether such a fighter has indeed cemented himself as the best. This is where subjectivity arises.

To be fair, it’s not any more subjective than P4P. Yet boxing fans have no problem with the P4P best fighter concept, so why should lineal be any different???
