You could argue that same point for people like calzaghe tho. Of which i agree btw sometiems you can clearly see a fighter is skilled despite who is on the resume.

Great fighter, but it's injustice to the true ATGs of the past, who earned their status by beating the best of their era in the ring, to put Mayweather's name up with theirs.

Mayweather is one of the most skilful defensive fighters there has ever been, but if he doesn't test his skills against the greatest fighters of his time, how can he be compared to the greatest all-time?

Best fighters he has fought are
Castillo....(arguably lost 1st fight, clearly won the rematch)
Corrales....(his best win, tho Chico turned out to be nowhere near as great as he was made out to be at the time)
Hatton/....(best jr welter of last 10 years, but it was @147)
JMM....(near shutout, but against a blown up lightweight @147)
De La Hoya....(SD vs 35yo, semi retired DLH)

Compare that to the best fighers he could have fought
    Pac
    Mosley
    Cotto
    Paul Williams
    Margarito
    Tszyu
    Winky

and you can see quite clearly he took the path of least resistance. When welterweight was the hottest division in boxing, he never fought any of the best welters. Instead retired, then came back to fight Marquez 3 divisions above his best weight. His fans make excuses as to why he didn't fight the best. Well, too bad for Mayweather great legacies aren't built on excuses.

I don`t think he has been better than Mosley or DLH. He is just playing it safe to
keep undefeated. He had a split decision against an old DLH who could have won
this fight if he had kept using his jab. Mayweather then backed out from a rematch.

Really doubt it, especially if he fights Mosley right now.

The new generation of boxing is already becoming an army of little mayweathers. Pretty boy bam bam, etc. When Mayweather is completely retired people will appreciate a lot more. Like he said, he came out of retirement to put some extras on his resume to make people realize that he's the truth. Right now he should have Mosley, easy. When Pac decides to fight the resume will be pretty amazing.
