After Khan fight Maidana declined, he was also poor vs Alexander, he lost couple of steps but under Garcia he has got couple of new steps back, uses his already good jab more, better head movement, so overall not really improved.

 

I dont think its because of weight but Robert Garcia sure made him better fighter.

 

Unquestionably. It doesn't have so much to do with the weight, however, as Maidana w/ Garcia > Maidana w/o Garcia. They're a great fit.

 

Remember that the khan fight was close and Alex just held and Marcos obliged pretty much. Still the same fighter overall.

He threw hardly if any jabs before hooking up with Garcia. He does revert to his aggressive, all out pressure style once he's on the inside that's his bread and butter. He always had very good timing too and he can even get alil crafty doubling up on sneaky right hands, like he used to destroy Lopez. So yea don't get fooled by his flatfooted approach he's got very, very underrated boxing skills and you could tell he's loving it, fighting off a jab. Chino is a complete fighter now very different Maidana.
