Don't understand the outrage. Pac obviously was skillful enough to easily school and shut out De La Hoya into submission without getting touched and he's gone on to easily beat different style of fighters in weights he shouldn't be fighting at. He's obviously not the most skilled, but he has proved to be one of the best today. The Pac of today is different to the one considered rather one-dimesional what seems all those years ago. And Jones was on that list too. Did you clowns all miss that, or did you just choose to ignore it? We all know RJJ's success owed more to his supernatural athleticism and speed than his skill. We've all seen what happened to him once father time took those physical gifts away from him. Anyway, I'm still waiting for Zab Judah fans to say he deserves to be on that list.
Hopkins and pavlik, didn't drain their opponents the catchweights were made to prevent themselves from being drained, therefore the catchweights would harm the defender instead of the challenger, lol. more credit to them. DlH insisteD but it was still at 160 Dummy.
Pac is Great. So is Mayweather. Maybe they will fight each other, but I don't want that anytime soon.
No no idiot, you are still very wrong. DLH insisted on a 158lbs catchweight, and that was the terms of the fight. B-Hop was not allowed to weigh in higher than that, that is a fact and if you bother to do your research you will find that I am correct and that you are not. :smoke And your point on Hopkins and Pavlik makes no sense at all! :nut They fought each other at a 170lbs catchweight, while Hopkins was at 175 and Pavlik was at 160. It's not possible that both men made the catchweight to ensure they were not drained, is it? Hopkins could comfortably have made 168lbs, and Pavlik only managed to weigh in at 164lbs when he faced Taylor in a 166lbs catchweight fight, so neither man needed to have a 170lbs catchweight to make sure they themselves were not drained. Hopkins made Pavlik jump 10lbs and Winky jump 10lbs, when he didn't need to. He clearly did so to give himself an advantage. I like Hopkins, but this is obvious.
JC had some great boxing skills, but not top 5 in the last 30 years. His main strenght was his workrate and adaptability IMO.
I would say JC was more blessed with a granite chin than boxing ability. I think we are arguing over the definition of skilled. I always took skilled as boxing skills you impact internally. Naturally having handspeed, power, or a cheen isn't a skill. A skill is something you can work on. The other factors are more of a blessing.I would say the slickster type boxer is most "skilled" My list based off our def. 1.Leonard 2.Whitaker 3.Mayweather 4.Benitez 5.Toney I want to put RJJ in their but his athletic ability is so freakish it overshadows his skill IMO
