Never understood the term '1 punch KO'... surely a '1 punch KO' would be the first punch in the first round? Some good KO's here though... Pacquiao v Hatton was a scary one!
Haha, i understand where you guys are coming from... I'm just saying that all KO's come from 1 punch... so why the big thing about 'ooh a 1 punch KO' more impressive would be first punch KO... not wearing someone down then scoring a '1 punch KO'
I don't really consider Hearns-Duran a one-punch KO given that Duran was already hurt (also dropped twice in round 1). As the commentator said, he was "fighting off instinct". There's too many one-punch KOs to choose from. Robinson-Fullmer 2 was awesome, so are others like Marciano-Walcott 1, Tyson-Botha, both Lewis-Rahman fights, Foster-Tiger, Foster-Quarry, Toney-Robinson, Toney-Williams, Brock-Lawrence, Saad-Mwale, Jackson-Graham, etc... Here are some of my favorites: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wNrB_V3PFc&fmt=18[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV4qwIHWQ7I&fmt=18[/ame] Not only was this a great KO, but one of the greatest rounds ever. When people rave about great one-punch KOs, it tends to be when the shot comes from nowhere. For instance, Mike McCallum blasting out Donald Curry with a left hook. Not so much so when a fighter is getting the holy **** beaten out of him and then is finally finished by a big shot. And not all KOs come from one-punch, many are combination KOs. Gatti-Gamache, Tyson-Thomas, Mayweather-Garcia, Marquez-Diaz, etc...are all knockouts from combination punches.
That was the point I was trying to make... first time i have posted having been more of an observer since signing up... was expecting a bitching! It's always a good laugh reading the bitching comments tho
with hatton pac, hatton had already been floored. foreman dropped moorer from nowhere after being dominated
<<<<<< It was the best ever!!!!! No seriously, it wasn't... I didn't even think it was that spectaculair, besides from winning. There are a lot of posts here that were far more spactaculair then Big George's. :smooch
I've watched this knockout quite a bit, and at first like you said it doesn't look that hard of a punch. But after watching it a few times, do you not think it was the right hand just before the KO what hurt Moorer? He seems to get stunned from it, and another right hand finishes the job...
