Is there a better exampe of falling in love with your power than ruddock?

George Foreman more than anyone. He was so in love with his power that he quit boxing when his hype train ended.

 

He was a mean surly brute of a fighter who liked hitting people in his first incarnation.

 

Mike Tyson is a better example for me, could have been a top 5 all time heavyweight but started training completely differently, lost his defensive first posture, first seen in the Bruno fight where he doesn't work the body before the fifth 5 round, looked for one shot, got hit more times than in his previous 5 fights and looked beatable.

 

tyson still did atleast some things right, he had to with his height although his speed helped him get away with some things. George 1 and ruddock were worse because their size and brute strength let them smash decent opposition to pieces without having to set anything up. Atleast tyson retained proper punching form lol. George wailed away with shots coming from his hips

 

Joshua is like Ruddock 2.0. In love with his power.

I don't know..Ruddock showed skills against lower tier guys. Lots of fighters do. The reason so many abandon that approach as they step up in class is because it won't work at the elite level and they have to emphasize their X factor, in this case it was the Ruddock smash.

 

Tyson is the best example I know.
