Is There A Case That Juan Manuel Marquez Is In Truth Undefeated?

Tommy how about a scorecard on the John fight bro?

 

It's been over a year since I watched it, I think. I'll have another look.

 

He clearly lost to Norwood, he lost to John due to the deductions and he should be 0-1-1 against Pacquiao, just the fight that was a draw should have been a loss and the fight that was a loss should have been a draw.

There are a lot of fighters out there who think they've never lost a fight. Why don't we see threads like this about Joel Casamayor? The Marquez nuthuggers, spearheaded by Max Kellerman, have always been ridiculous on this one.

 

I can't remember my card off the top of my head. I'll have a watch if it's on YT.

 

I've seen both MArquez vs Pac, Marquez vs John and Marquez vs Norwood (i have all these fights on my pc) and every single one is close. So you can make a case that he never clearly lost a fight for sure.

In my eyes he lost the 2 Pac fights clearly while the Norwood and John fights could have been a draw for Marquez at best.

 

I've found a DL link but I need to free up some space on my computer so I'm watching Casa v Ramirez first before I delete it and DL the John fight.

 

Why don't you just put them on CDs so you can watch'em anytime?

 

History never lie. Close fights, (and thus debateable) yes. But when all the noises of opinions and debates die down, it's the history books that will have the final say.

Regardless to whether or not he should be undefeated - I'm pretty sure he's happy with the status he's at right now.

 

I've just seen the Marquez-John fight. Marquez clearly won.
But that won't change my belief that he lost to Pacquiao twice.

 

Of course it won't. I bet Pacquiao even beat Morales the first time round in your eyes didn't he. I bet he even beat Singsurat and Torrecampo.

Kellerman is of the opinion that JMM in his eyes is an undefeated fighter.....
.....I feel the same way.
The Norwood fight imo was Marquez' toughest fight stylewise......
Norwood is one of those defensive pesky types with all the quirks and dirtiness to make even the most skilled fighters fight ugly, but could never do enough offensively to win a big fight.
Norwood got the nod against Marquez, but most ring journalist at the fight (including HBO who telecast it)thought Marquez had done enough to beat the champion.

The John and Pacquiao fights for me were clear JMM victories.....more so the John fight, as a case can be made in that fight that John did not win a single round clearly.
