Is there a case to be made for JMM having attained ATG status??

Who has JMM fought? Floyd Mayweather Jr, Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Diaz, Joel Casamayor, Freddie Norwood, Derrick Gainer, Robbie Peden, Michael Katsidis etc. JMM has always had good names on his resume, he's just never had that top-tier win. Fact is, he just beat Manny Pacquiao well north of his best weight. It's a monumental achievement.

Pacquiao has a better resume than JMM, there's no doubt about that. Now, what's that got to do with this thread? This thread has nothing to do with Pacquiao, do you understand that? Seperate yourself from his nuts for one ****ing minute.

I think a lot of people would say Saturday night sealed the deal.

He is an ATG and not just because of saturday he might not be in the top 30-50 ATG but he's in the top 100

I too thought he was an ATG before saturday. But a lot of people didn't give him that respect. Especially in comparison to Morales. He's at least on par with him.

I do not see how JMM has an ATG's resume. He still has not beaten Pacman, and his other wins are ok, but he lost easily to Mayweather, and lost to John. We can ignore the Norwood fight. What exactly mathches him well with other ATG fighters?

Are you going by what you saw or what the judges saw?

He should have won atleast 2 of the 3 fights with Pacquiao. Given he is a mutli-weight champion, given that he has beaten a good slew of top rate competition from bantamweight to now. I'd say he is an ATG. Top 100 fighters ever right? I mean yeah he's never officially beaten Pacquiao, but having 3 really really close bouts with poor judging, against what many used to consider the best fighter of the era. Gets you ATG status in my book. I mean he is still the best lightweight today.

He was able to knock down a 38 year old Marquez, yet Pacquiao couldn't.

If Marquez is garbage, what does that make the fighter garbage just outboxed?
