Is there a chance that Hagler is just a little overrated these days?

There's a chance that you're going to get just a little bite of a knuckle sandwich, if ya keep up this line of inquiry. :rosstheboss

I've just watched the fight again, and - my mistake - it was the second round that Minter knocked Hagler back on his heels and went for it. Hagler recovered immediately and gave at least as good as he got. You misquoted Minter. After Hagler refused to shake Minter's hand after he beat Antuofermo for the first time, Minter said he wasn't losing the title to that black man. Depending on your inflection when you say it, that can either sound innocuous or racist. The crowd behaviour was wrong. They felt they were provoked by seeing the other guy headbutting their guy, but it's still wrong.

Here's a link to the fight on my Daily Motion channel. Watch the second round again. And I repeat, this was an exciting fight:

My dad was at the Minter fight and he tried to have me believe that Minter hurt Hagler.

He absolutely did not. In fact, that fight was a one-sided massacre from beginning to end.

People WAYYYYYY overrate his chin. This guy never fought a single guy who weighed in over two hundred pounds. I mean, at some point, but not on fight night, which is when it counts the most.

It definitely didn’t look like Hagler got hurt by Minter. The most hurt (or close to it) I’ve ever seen Hagler in a fight was at the end of one of the rounds against Cyclone Hart.

At 2:01 of the 2nd round Minter lands a good left hand and thinks he hurts Hagler. Goes to land more and basically Hagler takes complete control.

Minter was very aggressive in this fight, had he boxed more he had a better chance which in real terms means he would have taken a longer beating.

In my opinion, of all the fights I saw of Hagler ( I've seen all that were filmed) the only two times I thought he was hurt was the right hand Hearns landed in the 1st rd in their fight, and the uppercut Mugabi landed in the 5th or 6th rd in their fight. ( that uppercut would've killed most men, koed most Middleweights in history)
Hagler may have been stun for about five seconds .... Than he went on a damn near killed both of those men.

Ya this is true, good post.. And I dont think it is fair to Marvin that he is actually being undersold a bit in general imo by others saying that he is up there but really doesn't have a case for number 1.. why not ? He is your no 1 isnt he ? He has every right to that claim same as Monzon does both in resume and H2H, I will say it again , going down the road that Hagler is somehow overatted is like throwing **** on the wall to see what sticks ..
