Is there a collective bias putting "Prime Tyson" over Lewis?

No. Tyson was the undefeated undisputed, unified, and lineal
champion at 22, a phenom. Lewis beat a lot of great fighters and is a
monster H2H, however I believe Tyson's reign of terror
in the 80s was more impressive. Prime for prime, Tyson
had the chin, defense, speed, and power to finish Lewis.
I dont see Lewis going into survival mode either, if
Lewis got hurt he would brawl. Tyson KO5.

Peak vs Peak it is an interesting fight.

Back in the late 80s when Tyson still wanted to fight and had some love for the game he was phenomenal.

I wouldnt be sure either way. I would want to see how Tyson would react when Lewis drops a couple of those righthands on him. Sure he could stay on his feet but would he still keep pressing the attack and letting his hands go.

If Mike Tyson loses any of his aggression or confidence its over. Lewis would be in total control.

I didn't know people still believed in the long count myth. Do you believe in the Tooth Fairy as well?

Tyson was actually a terrible inside fighter. He did his best work at mid-range.

I see Lewis losing some early rounds but ultimately keeping Tyson on the outside, winning a UD.

i thought tillis could of got the draw, look at tyson supposedly in his prime vs someone the same size as lewis, tony tucker, he struggled like hell and ate a huge uppercut, if tucker never had a broken hand he would of put tyson away and if lewis had hit him so would he. tyson was great against sluggers and former LHW's but when he gets in there with a SHW whos in shape and can box he just cant win.

    1. 11 seconds is a 10 count so is 9 seconds.

    2. tyson was terrible inside, you are right he got tied up easily, by some average fighters,

I love when I hear this, its such total horse ****. How many of Tyson's KO's resulted from inside fighting? Tons of them. Tyson was an excellent inside fighter and hurt most of the guys he faced on the inside.

Lewis beats Tyson at least 8 times out of 10. His style is all wrong for Tyson, he would keep Tyson behind that long left jab and use it to set up the straight right hand. Tyson has too far to get in to range against Lewis and Lennox has the tools to keep him at range. Even when Mike gets in, Lewis will smother and lean on him on the inside to spoil and tire Tyson.

It's a terrible stlye match for Tyson, he has a punchers chance but that's it to be honest.

Lennox got outboxed for 6the rounds by a 1993 version
of Bruno, who had a good jab. 80s version of Mike used
his jab effectively to get inside. Look at the punishment
Mike took from Lewis before he got stopped, no way
Lewis can stop a prime Mike. I believe Tillis was faster
than Lewis by the way. Anyway Tyson will be able to
slip Lewiss jab, and/or use his own jab to get inside.
Yes Lewis would tie Mike up on the inside, maybe get
off an uppercut, however I think Mikes speed and
defense makes the difference. Tyson will be able
to drop Lewis with a flush shot, Lewis chin won't
Be able to handle Tyson. If Lewis survives the
first 4 rounds, he may be able to establish distance
for spurts, but Mike was too fast to relentless.
Lewis wouldnt have the speed or movement to
Keep Mike off. Cmon this isnt Tua for crying out loud.
Lewis is one of my faves too. Prime Tyson, Id give
prime Ali, Prime Bowe, maybe Foreman a shot.

Styles makes fights son, and Lewis' style is very very bad for Tyson. The mythical "Tyson in his prime" stuff doesn't work here, Lewis' style is the antidote to Tyson in this one at any point in Tyson's career.

The 13" reach advantage is key here for Lewis. It wins the fight for Lewis - he'll be landing jabs and straight rights all night and holding Tyson when he gets in.

Tyson having to slip multiple shots and then make up the 13" distance before he can get a shot off puts him at a huge disadvantage against a guy who is used to controlling range with a good textbook jab like Lewis.

After the 5th or 6th, Tyson would be reduced to trying desperate charges at Lewis as Lennox uses his reach and size advantages. I'm not sure if Lennox would press to stop him, I think he would be cautious because of Tyson's power but I see him taking a wide UD.

Tyson was a great fighter, don't believe this stuff about lack of heart and if you bully the bully and he head an incredible desire to win. But prime Lewis was another great fighter and he had so much size over TysonI could never be certain of any fighter defeating a prime Lewis even Ali or Louis.

A serious Lewis is a contender for being h2h number 1.
