Is there a rehydration weight set for the Cotto vs Pacquiao bout?

    A good idea and a good question. do you or does anybody know about any fight in the past that had a rehydration limit ? and in what time before the fight its weighing occured ?

    You are wrong in that only the IBF has a stipulated post weighin gain of 10 pounds max for championship fights. The WBC, WBO, WBA, and the other trinkets do not have post weigh-in restricitons. This stems because fights used to be same day weigh-in. THat was found to be detrimental to fighters because fighters who cut weigh so much do not have the resistance during the fight, and thus more prone to injury. You have more boxing deaths before. That is why top notch fighters do not try to cut weigh too much. Today, boxers are given a day to rehydrate as long as they are able to be in a certain weight division during weigh-in. However, because of this, many fighters are actually cheating. They dehydrate so much but become two division higher after gaining weight, ala Gamache vs. Gatti.
