Is there a single thing to like about Andre Ward?

He nearly always fights in his own home town, he doesn't have much power, but even worse: he doesn't even attempt to hurt, let alone KO his opponents. He also likes to foul and bend the rules, which he gets away with in his home town. I saw him easily beat Miranda to the punch, yet still fall in a clinch after every punch, from the 6th round on. :-(

And it's not that I only like face-first sluggers.I enjoy Mayweather's fights because he's such a skillful boxer. On paper, the same could be said about Ward, but his style just doesn't appeal to me at all. Falling into a clinch after every punch, using his head, having less killer instinct than a Teletubbie, etc etc.

I can't say I'm a fan of the whole "Son of God" thing, either. Really, I don't see any redeeming quality in Ward as a boxer...

I think Ward will beat Froch, but I'll be rooting for the Brit - all night long!

I think his childhood history is very deep. Plus, you never know exactly what will transpire in the ring when you have him in it.

He's a nice guy. I feel the same way about him as I do Wlad, like him outside the ring, inside the ring he bores the **** out of me.

Nothing aside from the fact he's a winner, a class act outside the ring, very respectful to his opponents, and obviously invests huge amounts of time to learning and being able to apply the true "craft" of boxing. Other than that, no there's nothing to "like" about him, great post.

i enjoy watching his fights. I like a fighter who is able to spoil his opponent's game plan. The guy is just good, he wins round after round after round.

And of course there are things to like about Andre Ward. From a style perspective I can see why many don't like watching him fight, but your post is about more than his fighting style. Andre comes off as a good guy, he seems to be really down to earth, not sure why somebody can't appreciate that.

    Nice!

I don't find his style all that pleasing, but it seems you really have to nitpick to find reasons to dislike him. :deal

Mayweather should take a lesson from Andre Ward on how to conduct yourself as a person.
