How can't you like enjoying that talented boxer who is one of the two best in the division.

    From a Bute fan.

 Or a butthurt Green, Bika, Miranda or Abraham fan. The more success you have, the more haters you have.

I always appreciate watching skill and Ward has tons of it. He can fight inside and outside. When he beat up Kessler and Green, people thought he would be almost strictly an in-fighter. Then he showed a more varied game against Bika. First inside then outside to finish the fight. Then he boxes Abraham beautifully from the outside almost exclusively. This guy is about as complete as they come. He will be a tough nut for anyone to crack.

    I like watching him fight.

The thread title had me ready to come in here and **** all over this thread. However, you make your points logically, as opposed to ignorantly (as is the norm around here), so I'll just respectfully disagree. Your opinion is your opinion, but one fact that I can successfully dispute, is that Ward is NOT a hometown fighter. A bit of research will reveal this.

If homefighter means you fight in the city you are born, you are right. With that definition, Bute never fought at home. He fought twice in Romania and all the rest abroad. It doesn't work like that, does it?

Ward fought all his professional fight in USA so he's a homefighter for the moment, same thing for Bute.

Back to the topic, sometimes I like Ward fighting, sometimes he bores me. That depends of the fighter in front of him. I was very impressed and entertained by the Miranda fight. The Kessler's one also, even if he was dirtier than necessary. The Green fight was awful, just awful. The Bika one and the Abraham one were medium.

Ward has many skills but power. He still has to prove himself a bit, because his only big win is against Kessler and the viking warrior was not at his best at the time. The Froch fight will enlight us more on his talent.

Bottom, I don't hate him and I'm not a fan but I watch all his fights, even if some have been dull to watch.

He is honestly a stain on boxing. Throw a punch and as soon as any danger comes then clinch and headbutt! whats worse is that he gets away with it.

Carl Froch please for the love of god knock him out

I will watch Ward's fights - but only for the fact that he's a winner. The moment he stops winning, very few will follow him.

And for those who compare him with Wlad - indeed, Klitschko isn't the most exciting fighter, but at least 95% of his fights end with either him or the opponent on the floor. I'm more likely to get a blowjob from Kim Kardashian, followed by a threesome with Scarlett Johansson+Cheryl Cole, than that Ward even as much as hurts his opponent.

Holyfield lacked power at heavyweight, but at least he tried to do something about it. Look at him furiously finishing Tyson and Cooper, or him whaling away at Bowe. Ward would NEVER do anything close to that.

Neither would Wlad, but he still finished Peter and Chambers in pretty brutal fashion (both needing more than a minute to get up), and to be fair - Haye and Ibragimov did run all night long. Others like Byrd, Brock, Chagaev, Thompson, Austin, etc, all failed to hear the final bell on their feet.

That's the thing I dislike most about Ward. He is very talented and could do so much more - perhaps even score a TKO. Instead he does just enough to get by: lands a punch, falls in a clinch, throw the odd headbutt, and repeat.

Like I said, I will follow him because I'm a boxing fan, but when he loses, all appeal will go away with it.
