Agreed on that, that's a smart solution.

Last I checked everyone has the same option to cut weight and drop down a weight class.

I don't think you can class them as weight bullies when they are complying with the rules.

What's the point having weight divisions at all if we have one fighter coming in 2, 3 or 4 divisions heavier than their opponents and with huge/obscene reach advantages over them due to their way bigger frame because they're, duh, way naturally bigger than them?

And then you give said massive weight bully 36 hours to recover and rehydrate as comfortably and healthily as possible, an additional 12 hours on top of the standard 24 hour one to blow way up in weight so that they can come in an extra one or two divisions heavier than they normally do for 24 hour weigh ins?

What next? 48 hour weigh ins? 60? 72?

Why on earth would they even sanction fights with 36 hour weigh ins between by far the biggest guy in the division who is campaigning at their first weight class vs by far the smallest guy whom is campaigning in the third one?

And then to add insult to injury the gigantic weight bullies who have literally never fought anyone close to their size even when they move up 1 or 2 divisions, or at worst have actually started fighting opponents their size in their third weight class or close to their size, are praised to high heaven as modern day greats and skyrocketed up the P4P rankings despite the fact they've, again, literally never even fought anyone close to their size. That's not what P4P is or ever should be.

Loma is undeniably way way way better P4P than Haney is or ever will be and it's not even remotely debatable. And in terms of skill level too. You only have to watch their fight to see all of that

Haney would literally have to go up to LHW bare minimum weighing what he does now in the ring and face a LHW with a freakish reach to be up against the kind of physical advantages Loma was against him.

How can you be ranked P4P when you've literally never even fought a single world champion close or remotely close to your size when most of the others in the rankings have done so many many times and some of them have done so many many times against bigger, much bigger or way bigger world champions and top contenders who hold big/huge physical advantages over them?

Surely the bare minimum requirement for deserving a P4P top 10 ranking is beating at least one prime world champion your size? It makes a complete mockery out of the whole concept of a P4P top 10

One belt. One division. Just do it.

They are not "weight bullies" if they make weight under the modern day rules, and it's silly to claim otherwise.

I myself would ideally prefer same day weigh in, but that is not likely to ever come back.

Hate the game, not the player.

Totally agree mate the size the likes of what Haney and canelo come in at makes an absolute mockery of the sport.

Haneys size and reach advantage was beyond ridiculous..

Call me crazy but I think catterall would make Haney look an absolute mug and it's a shame prograis wouldn't fight him.

Yeah it does and yes it was absolutely ridiculous

I'd love to see it. Catterrall's an awkward and tricky customer for sure. But I'd root for any human being in history vs Haney. Literally

That would put an end to boxing forums. 95% of the content would be erased.

What about the first weigh in one hour before the show starts? How would that be dangerous? They get three tries, up to 15 minutes before the show begins, maybe?

Have a rehydration limit of a set % of the weightclass. For example if its a fight at 140 pounds u can only rehydrate 14 pounds if its set at 10%. Each weight group can have its set %....so for lighter weights perhaps a smaller rehydration %.
I would set the max at 10%

Just do weigh-ins every day for 5 days in a row including the day of the fight. You have to make weight (or within a 1 or 2 lbs every day leading up to fight day). Don't bother televising all 5 days of weigh ins. Just have an official and a certified scale to make the measurement. You should be fighting at the weight that you are, not the weight you can temporarily dehydrate yourself down to.

I'd also argue that we should decrease the number of weight classes, and broaden the range of weight that each class covers.

Haha should be fighting someone his own size like Tim tsyu.

See another one ran from the looks rematch after being clearly beaten.
