Is there any chance Golden Boy did on purpose to thwart Donaire's career?

somehow i think HBO was involved in this. HBO don't really have any attractive fights/fighters not affiliated with TR.

Thanks, Oscar. For ruining the career of a promising young fighter.

I wouldn't put it past those scumbags De La Hoya and that wanker banker Schaefer. These money whores must be getting desperate now

So you think Arum has no blame in this?

I could definitely see Golden Boy poisoning the well. If they can't use Donaire, atleast Top Rank can't use him now either. And look at the stuff Arum said about Donaire and his wife, nasty. Imagine if Nonito has to go back to Top Rank.

As for why Donaire never appeared on Pac's undercards, that's been reported numerous times in the past that Pac didn't want him on the undercards, even that pant-licker Koncz admitted they didn't want to have to pay Donaire's guarantee. Arum would've loved to build up Donaire, that's just one more fighter he makes more money off of, plus he could've tapped into the Pac fans. I believe he's saying the bad things about Donaire now to try and burn that bridge in case Golden Boy tries to cash in on some of the Pac momentum. You don't hear Arum blame Pac for not letting Donaire on those undercards because he doesn't want to upset Pac. Arum was just talking about how he was going have Donaire earn 500K in his next fight, then a million by the end of the year. Go figure a woman ****s it up. What ever ruling we get in the next couple months, expect appeals to eat up the rest of the year.

Good point. But the way I see it, Donaire is Arum's last top fighter who is still on HBO. GBP are cutting the bridges completely. Whether Donaire fights for GBP or not, they don't care... they got other HBO fighters.

No doubt, HBO's pissed about Arum moving Pac to Showtime.

I doubt GBP did anything to thwart his career. Actually, it's pretty ridiculous to even think...

HBO still loves Gamboa, and if Arum can dangle a Gamboa-Lopez fight in front of HBO they'll roll over.

Yes sad news . . . but Donaire doesn't have to stay idle. He can opt to fight under Top Rank until his contract totally expires in 2013.

What would Donaire bring as added value to a Pacquiao undercard... Pac is already drawing 100% of the Filipino fanbase. It might make Donaire more money, but it makes Pac more money to put some fighters with different fanbases and up the PPV buys.

I think Arum SHOULD HAVE put Donaire on Pac's undercard, for long term results. IMO Pac should not be so cheap as to insist on not having another Filipino star (lesser one) on the card.

so fighters sign contracts with broadcasting networks too?:huh

You saying GBP doesn't want a potential top rank fighter, Nonito, making money off of HBO? GBP wants to OWN HBO. That what you mean?

good point about Gamboa. We'll see!

I just hope Donaire gets in another fight or two before the end of the year.
