Is there any elite fighter at 168lbs Abraham can actually beat?

I can't think of a legit SMW he could beat with that bull**** inactive style he brings to the table. He beat Taylor, but Taylor came from 160 just like him. I cant even see him beating guys like Bika, Andrade, an older Glen Johnson, etc. Perhaps Allan Green, but both guys performed so poorly in the tournament that its a 50-50 fight

He'd batter Green, in my opinion.

His style has been subject to some of the best fighters in the division and it hasn't been good enough. He now needs to adapt if he can and change his preperations because he didn't seem to have a gameplan.

I think him & Green are on the same level. He is an explosive puncher that he could prolly KO him, but who knows?

Abraham won a vacant title at 160, and then defended it against several feather fisted guys, and Edison Miranda. Edison gave him all he wanted and more in their first fight. And that was a version of Miranda that was somewhat green compared to the version Pavlik damn near beat the black off of.

There was nothing new or surprising about what happened tonight. Froch fought exactly like Carl Froch, and Abraham fought exactly like he always does. AA was never that good to begin with.

He never beat an elite fighter at 160, and he won't beat one at 168.

Its interesting how some posters want to rate Froch higher than Ward based on this win, but AA is not even a better fighter than Bika

I have to say though this is the absolute worst I have seen AA. AA def won quite a few rds off of JT and JT boxed frochs ears off.

I for one was surprised to see AA fight so poorly. Credit to froch though.

He's too small for the SMW division, but too big for the MW's.

His style doesn't make well for being a much shorter man. If you keep Abraham out of range, you nullify his one major weapon.

Kalle Sauerland is a smart man. He took a crude slugger, and turned him into a big star. I've been harping on this for years. After Abraham's last two fights maybe some people will wake up.

Good to hear this said two years later. Yes, Ive been away from really posting on ESB since like '08 and AA was all the rave then, I never saw anything special in him and I actually called him a poor mans winky wright, which drew many laughs, guess Ive gotten some kind of vindication. I never really cared for him, so it really dont matter that he's what I though he would be. Just good to see others finally post it.

Disappointing performance by Abraham tonight, no excuses from my side. I think he still beats Green. But besides him, he would prolly lose to all the the other guys who took part in the tournament.

Sad to say this, because I'm a real Abraham fight, but if he doesn't make the right adjustments after this fight, he should either drop out of the tournament or even call it quits.

Well -- I used to laugh out loud when posters compared AA's defense to Winky's! I said thay were either stupid, or never saw a Winky fight.

Back then, in 08', Winky was screaming about Pavlik. There was bad blood because Pavlik had called Winky out a bunch of times earlier, and Winky ignored him. Arum told Winky to go fight Abraham, and come back with something Kelly wanted. Sauerland low balled the **** out of Wright, so the fight did not come off. I always thought that sucked.

Andrade isn't elite, but he's a legit, solid 168 lber. Would bring hell to participants in this tournament. Forget the elite, that style won't work on solid guys at 168. AA's whole style is based on taking punishment & HOPING he will knock you out.
