Is there any heavyweight in history who has both George Foreman's power + Muhammad Ali's speed?

Is there any heavyweight who has similar power to George Foreman and similar speed to Muhammad Ali? If so, who is it? Do you think it’s possible for a freak of nature to have both of those attributes?

No, but peak Lennox Lewis wasn't terribly far off (more like 70s Holmes' speed combined with near-Tyson power in the right hand).

I'm not sure George's bludgeoning fire power would fit into a super speedy style, in fact I think they're each others' antithesis.

No HW had Foremans power in general.

But the best mix of the 2 is probably Louis. Or dare I say Wilder.

    Langford maybe?

But yeah these things usually work against each other. Like with artillery the stronger the artillery the longer the reload.

    Definitely not.
You can't, or at least you can't easily find a boxer who has Foreman's strength.
You can't, or at least you can't easily find a boxer who has Ali's speed before his exile.
Both virtues in one boxer definitely cannot be found.

The guys closest are probably Louis and Tyson.

It's really a hard question as we're talking about a man considered the hardest hitter ever and then the fastest HW ever. There just really aren't many guys that have both those attributes in tandem.

Tyson I can't even say because his power wears as fights go on....................because he's really not a big HW and his power while real was more based upon speed and technique

Maybe Lennox, he was a hitter but he wasn't really "fast". He moreso just had very coordinated footwork.

Shannon Briggs, Maybe for 3-4 rounds???????????? One thing Shannon always had was power, and his younger version was pretty quick (obviously not Ali quick but quicker than most of his peers).

Either Felix Savon or Teofilo Stevenson imo. Both could hit like a truck and were incredibly fleet of foot for such big men.

    No

Lewis was never as fast as 70's Holmes let alone Ali.

    Mike Tyson is the closest.

Ali is the only heavyweight i give a 10 out of 10 as far as speed is concerned.

Tyson is more like a 9-9.5 in terms of speed and a 9-9.5 in terms of power.

Wilder's right hand maybe? I would also say Wladimir Klitschko. He punched harder than Foreman and was pretty quick for a big heavyweight.

No, but Ali was a large man not much smaller than Forman with the fastest hands it’s kind of surprising his punch was not more powerful than it was.

    Agreed.

Even though his style is the polar opposite of Ali's, he has the best mix of dynamite power & blazing speed (w/ surprising elusiveness for a come-forward fighter) that the HW division has ever seen.

Are we including foot speed in there as well? If so, Dr. Clinchammer wouldn't make it. But yes, if we are talking handspeed + power, he has a case.

Watch his earlier fights. He had amazingly light feet. But yeah, no one is on the level of Ali as far as quick feet at that size.
