If there is, which fighters could have the best chance to do it?

We are seeing fighters now with the 24hr weigh ins that fight at Ltheavyweight+ after rehydration....I can think of a few that might have done well RJJ, Toney, Hopkins, Nunn in competitive fights as long as they lasted I would not gamble against the three ATG's given they were bigger men but yeah we are seeing middleweights today that if fighting in that era would be Ltheavyweights due to same day weigh ins.

I'm confused.. Is it guys like Rich listed that were MW at one time and moved up or guys that stayed at MW and never moved up?
If we're talkin guys who never moved up ala Hagler Monzon ect. Then no I don't c it

In modern times, no true MW Champ has moved up to defeat the true LtHvy Champ, and few have tried. Maybe Mickey Walker or a MW Greb could have done it in their times.

Sugar Ray Robinson only made the jump to light-heavyweight once and never tried it again. According to his autobiography, there were discussions that took place with Archie Moore but they never came to anything. If Robinson couldn't or wouldn't do it, then not sure who else could.

Also, Roy Jones made the jump from middle to light-heavy (via an 18 month stay at super middle) so if he counts in this discussion, then perhaps he's the only one who could have done it.

Eddie Booker, had his career not been derailed because of losing vision. As it was, with poor vision in one eye, he knocked out Moore while weighing 166.

Toney moving up to meet spinks at light heavy.. Is there a chance there? Jones moving up to meet Moore ? Slight chance that Roy could do it ,craftily on points maybe .

Charles was 19 or so when he started off as a middle weight. Some guys are still growing at that age. Ali at 19 would've been fighting at cruiser weight if that division existed back then.

I'm fascinated by Booker. There are a small handful of photos and his record on boxrec and not a lot else but it strikes me that he might have been one of the great ones had his career panned out differently without the eye trouble. Archie Moore said that Booker and Burley were the two best fighters he ever fought. Another underaprecciated Murderer's Row legend.

Greb & SRR may have been able to grab a title from one of them but not dominate

RJJ has a reasonable shot even though I wouldn’t pick it. Hopkins and Toney are live dogs, but again I wouldn’t bet it even with good odds

Greb has the best shot by a mile .. wouldn't be surprised if he got some wins .. If he can beat Tunneys as* twice and giving up weight … He's already proved he's a live one in this , imo
