He fought at the weekend against Dominican Francisco Contreras and won. Francisco Contreras had a very good amateur record of 350-14 and was 16-1 before the fight with Cano with his only loss being reported as being slightly controversial to undefeated Ugandan Sharif Bogere due to a possible knockout due to a punch to the back of the head. I had a bet on Cano to beat Contreras and finally found the following fight report. http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/results-from-cancun-108439 The report says he won 5th round tko whilst boxrec says Contreras retired in the 6th round.
He shouldn't get another shot soon, I think he needs another 2-3 years to mature both mentally and physically, he'll then be better equipped to win a belt. Impressed me against Morales, kid has alot of heart and some nice skills too.
I think I read somewhere that Morales was really impressed with him and offered to train with him in the future.
