DLH could probably beat Taylor at 160.

If he can beat (controversially or not) another B-level middleweight titleholder in Sturm, why not?

    I've never disliked Taylor.

The guy was overhyped, yes. But whose fault was that? Not his; he just fights (and is willing to face anybody at that). If anything, it was the media's fault. I've always said that extremely high expectations often leads to major disappoint. Because of those who billed Taylor as a future ATG or the next mainstream star, many people look at him as a "fraud" or a "failure" instead of viewing him as a solid B-level fighter, with obvious flaws, but the ability to compete at the championship level and win some fights.

I have a lot of respect for Jermain Taylor. I don't envision much success at 168, but I sincerely wish him all the best. He's a good man, humble, hard working, and has a fighter's mentality. He proved me wrong too, in the rematch with Pavlik. He was the one who made critical adjustments while Pavlik fought virtually the exact same fight. Taylor showed that lateral movement, in and out movement, and handspeed can greatly disrupt Pavlik's timing and rhythm. He was winning the jabbing contest when he'd catch Pavlik's jab and shoot his own jab. Fatigue set in and Pavlik's pressure behind the jab is what won him the fight.

With that said, I'll go as far as saying if Taylor he had Pavlik's stamina, his record would be 28-1-1 right now.

Possible, if even a beginning-to-age Hopkins did it...hence why I said Oscar "could" win.

Taylor is a solid guy and a solid fighter. He is one of the rare guys in boxing (a sport that doesn't lend itself to this virtue) who is an honest sportsman when he loses. His fights with Pavlik were very entertaining and he came up just short both times. He also fought like a warrior on both occasions. I think the hype was legit, and I think his prospects at 168 (assuming a division without Calzaghe) are also legit.

i would agree 100%... he will give anyone at 168 trouble,i think if calzaghe beats hopkins he might call it a day and retire undefeated
