Is There Any Point in Wlad Defending Against Mormeck?

Nope. Not needed at all. But the landscape is so barren it's hard to criticise him.

My only issue with wlad taking this joke fight is people are already debating whether or not vitali is the better brother.

Whilst today it seems clear that wlad is the true number 1, if in a years time wlad has fought only mormeck and thompson (plus some wbo mandatory like barret :-() in the meantime vitali is beating haye, solis and povetkin wlad's claim as champ will be ridiculed.

 

Yeah, it starts to seem like he's coasting toward retirement and the preservation, rather than enhancement, of a legacy.

 

Certainly. Maybe it's a mentality thing because vitali literally is fighting for his legacy whereas wlad seems to have it laid out on a plate.

Even in the worst case scenario I mentioned, vitali probably retires after that run and then wlad goes back to being top dog uncontested.

 

Lewis wasn't champ for the Fortune fight.

Wlad should scrap Mormeck and just say "bring on Monte Barrett" for a light snack.
