All footage of the Sconiers fight (and KD) was scoured and subsequently purged from the Internet. Word has it that he was quite heavily dropped by Sconiers and took a while to recuperate. This is not good, especially when considering the "quality" of the opponent. However, (to his credit) Wilder did get hit flush by Stiverne multiple times and did not wobble. Stiverne might not be highly regarded around here, but he's not exactly featherfisted either... and many of the usual ESB armchairs expected Wilder to hit the deck if he took a clean shot from him. Instead, Wilder battered Stiverne for twelve, breaking his hand in the process. Stiverne made all kinds of excuses about being boxed to smithereens that night, but Wilder almost stopped him too until Bermane decided to go for a sloppy MMA takedown in the early Rounds. Wilder even having the discipline to simply box behind a consistent jab from that point onward was something many did not expect him to possess. He hadn't even gone the distance in his career at that point. Wilder is... a wild card. He has arguably looked considerably worse since the night he lifted the WBC title from the "allegedly ill" Stiverne. You never know what's going to happen when he fights, but a KO one way or the other is virtually guaranteed. If DW's hands don't hold up going forward, he'll have serious problems. The top HWs in the division will eventually have nowhere to go besides each other and it is then that we will get even more answers about Deontay and what he's actually capable of.
