Hearns is problematic for Canelo in that he's a very fast and fluid boxer himself and Canelo doesn't have the world's best footspeed. Canelo is problematic for Hearns in that he has a concrete bunker for a chin, big power and the ability to work out the timing of his opponents. Could Canelo beat Hearns? Absolutely. I could see ginger plodding after Hearns eating all sorts of stuff until he drops the hammer and Tommy finds himself sitting down. Hearns would have to be elusive and on his bike, more Motorcity Cobra than Hitman. He can outbox Canelo, he can't outslug him.

Hearns beats 154 Canelo. Loses against every other version. GGG would stop him early too imo.

My bad I misread your post I agree with you that GGG could stop Hearns at Middleweight.

I think at the heavier weights it favours Hearns more. At light middleweight and middleweight possibly Canelo by KO but above that weight it's a very hard fight for him.

Tommy Hearns was at his peak at jr middleweight, I think he blows Canelo away at 154 and beats him decisively at 160
Tommy's hand speed and length would be too much to handle

168 is arguably Canelo´s prime. He would be capable of beating Hearns from the late 80s and onwards.

Easy. Canelo beats Hearns any weight any time..all he has to do is funnel him vast amounts of cash and in return Hearns will play pitty pat for all 12 rounds

Dmitry Bivol, 6ft, 74 inch reach. Hears, 6ft 1in, 78 inch reach. Hearns was faster than Bivol and hit significantly harder than Bivol. Bivol's size and length gave him a huge advantage over Canelo. No reason to think Hearns greater length, speed and power wouldn't pose an even greater problem for Canelo.

Quite simply, the answer is yes. Hearn's did not have a great chin and prime Alvarez had very good power. This doesn't mean I think it would happen but Canelo could catch Hearns and put him out.

Of all the ATGs I think Hearns is one of the guys that would take the most surprise losses, so while I'd favour him every time over Canelo i wouldn't be surprised if he went 7-3 in fights against Canelo

I know your kidding. Hearns, had tremendous pride and would never throw a fight. Actually he would be disappointed if he didn't stop Canelo at 154lbs.

Hearns was spectacularly defeated by Barkley and Hager with one punch ko's. Aside from a weak James Kirkland, Canelo doesn't ko guys with one punch.

This is a bad matchup for Canelo. He doesn't have the power to keep Hearns off him. He cannot lay on the ropes and try counters while Hearns punished him. Hearns hands are too fast for counters to happen.

At 155 and 160 it's no contest: Hearns all day. 168 and 175 the odds get closer.
