I don`t think I`ll bother, think you have recency bias. I think he was so damn close being the greatest fighter ever. I'm not sure he makes to 10 all time, but I LOVE Hearns.

Compare that to Tommy sparking Shuler in the 1st round with one shot.

He has very good power, but he`s not a one punch KO artist like Julian Jackson etc.

Hearns being a great fighter doesn't make him immune to having bad style matchups and it doesn't make him immune to losing either. Now, whether Canelo should be favoured over Hearns or not I'm not going to go into here, but certainly it is within Canelo's ability to beat Hearns.

You don't think Hearns was capable of using his jab with the same effect Bivol did? Bivol neutralized everything Canelo had with pretty much his jab. Add the speed and power of Hearns and Canelo would be in trouble.

The way i lookat it, Canelo was very good at 154lbs, but Hearns was at his best at that weight. I had Hearns beating Benitez 11-4 in rounds, of coarse it could have been closer. We all know that Hearns destroyed Duran at 154lbs also, in my opinion Hearns does a real number on Canelo at 154lbs barring a freak ko by Canelo. So again, at 154lbs i have Hearns by late tko or wide decision.
At 160lbs Canelo improved alot, got bigger, stronger, and developed a solid pressure fighter style, after the Golovkin fights. So we have the Canelo that fought Jacobs vs The Hearns that fought, Shuler, DeWitt, Roldan, and Barkley. Thats about a 60/40 50/50 fight in favor of Hearns. At 168lbs you have Canelo, who we're all very familure with currently vs the Hearns that fought Kinchen, Leonard, and Olajide. By this time Hearns understood he had aged and had chin issues. For the Leonard fight he got a special mouthpiece that corrected a shifted jaw that was part of the causes of his being a little chinny. I think Canelo vs Hearns at 168lbs would be a50/50 fight because Hearns would be laser focused, with the height, reach, jab, and big fight experience. Hearns would raise his game because its a superfight. So it would go 12 rounds. I would say the same goes at 175lbs. The Hearns that fought Andries was a younger faster gunslinger, but he was a little more vulnerable to be caught because he took more chances, and the Barkley eye opener hadn't happend yet. The Hearns that fought Hill and who fought Barkley in the rematch would have been very tough for Canelo, because of his later career self awareness, and of course his new mouthpiece. So at at 175lbs i actually slightly favor Hearns because He took Barkleys best and fought hard to the very end, going 12 rounds, all the while being able to box. Canelo at 175lbs is only 1-1 his only win being against a wore out over trained kovalev, while looking one dimensional and sluggish against a fast young Bivol. I would love to see these two go at it. Hearns was never stopped in his career since the first Barkley fight and getting his new mouthpiece, only when he twisted his ankle vs Uriah Grant. He even defeated the very heavy handed former cruiserweight champ Nate Miller.
