I havent been to the gym in so long, like more than a year + due to personal issues but I decided to go back at it. Went everyday except for 1 for the past 10 days and decided to spar today. Anyway, the dude i sparred with I've been sparring for 3+ years and everytime we spar, it goes the same way everytime.

he's about 25 years old and around my weight, i always try to outbox him and work on my defense and footwork by moving but he pressures me constantly, and unloads ****ing bombs. he doesn't really know how to control himself, so he throws every punch with bad intentions and it usually turns into a slug fest and there is always tons of blood, especially today.

anyone else have anyone they hate sparring with?

isn´t there any trainer who check out the sparring? They should control it and tell him that he does wrong, he should learn to control his punches. Stop sparring with him until he has learned. You are there to spar and learn, not to hurt each other.
    All the best

Yea there's this one guy who goes all out Mike Tyson in sparring. He says that he can't controll himself or something... Some people just are like that i guess, a little ****ed in the mind. I just don't spar with him. There's nothing to learn from sparring with him.

Everyonce in a while its good to have a sparring session a little bit rough, but some people get way to carried away. They try to kill everytime they are in there.

My kid, I have always had trouble with Shorter guys becuase I love comming forward, but I give up my height in doing so, he can punch has fast ****ing hands, you dont realize how fast until he is in your face with them, and its hard to hit him, I mean its my ****ing son, However when he pisses me off, I nail his ass.

I fight at 165 but I walk around below that. I'm 6'4 though.

6'4 is fine, we are 5'4 we love the disadvantage, we had a sparring partner about your height for his fight in which he knocked the man out in 19 seconds, and that guy was your height it was perfect sparring we didnt expect to get a guy that tall but thank god we did, cus our sparring partner was that tall.

Usually when I had problems during sparing it only motivated me to think why I have problems with this particular opponent/style and work on that later. And most of the time it worked (if sometimes only to some extent).

However, there was one guy I hated sparring. I am 5'9-5'10 and I was around middleweight at this time - and the guy was huge. He was 6'8 high (more than Wlad) and with somewhat similar style. I tried different things, but I was just too short to do anything.

little mcCracken a little cocky **** who is as upper middle class as hell comes in does every ingle move in the book and refuses to box, trade or even throw a punch.
im not even the warrior type i find myself pretty balanced if not a bit too shy of getting hit...(and why not) and will run for time to time and will cover behind a block if i dont like the thought of getting hit.but this guy takes it to a whole new level
this guy pretends he is sugarrayfloydclaypepjonesjr. every time he steps in the ring.

also there was some guy from chiswick who owns nothing but a right cross...sadly enough no one in the gym can get out the way of it.
it's strange you can do everthing rigth against him and end up having a cut on you cheek or a nice shiner to show your rents.

No not really. Except people too far from my weight class because it's basically useless.

There's a taller fellow that just clinches me all the time now because he realized it works. He's way bigger than me so he puts his whole weight on me for minutes at a time, which is no big deal but after a few rounds I'm pretty gassed. I have a hard time getting away because he just bulls me around, but i'm getting better at it. It's just ****ing annoying as hell because a ref would be breaking these clinches, and i keep telling him that but he just keeps doing it.

I'm going to try fighting him on the outside today instead of the inside.

I never liked sparring with heavypunchers. Nobody likes to get hit period ,let alone by someone who can really bang. As an amateur I fought as a middleweight and there used to be a heavyweight at my gym who was like 260 Was slow but could hit hard and was durable and could cut the ring off well. It was tough giving away like 90 pounds and getting on my bicycle for as long as we sparred.
