I dont get why he gets all the hate when his resume says it all. He has fought the best of his generation with maybe the exception of Wright and Forrest.
Hopkins, Mosley, PBF, Campas, Vargas, Castillejo, Gatti, Trinidad, Quartey, Carr, Chavez, Camacho, Whitaker, Leija, Paez, and yes the great Genaro Hernandez which is by many considered to be one of PBFs best wins. Oh yea DLH popped Hernandez cherry then PBF took the leftovers years later.

He didnt win them all but even the ones he lost he was very competitive in and it could have gone either way on them. The only one that wasnt was the Hopkins fight and even then DLH was ahead as many people thought.

ITs not wins that make a fighter great its great fighters and fights that do. Its always seeking out that tough challenge and fighting him that makes you great IMO. Win or Lose.

That resume is full of big names or at the very least tough fighters at that era. I dont know much about some of the other names on there but they had pretty close to undefeated records.

PBF nuthuggers compare that resume his.

 Bhops controlled his ass, it wasn't close.

He lost to the best he fought while others such as campas, whittaker, Gatti, and others were past it and on the decline.

Both PBF and RJJ have better resumes IMO.

WHat!! are you kidding me. Its not even close. look at the names i mentioned then look at DLHs The whole Hernandez thing should have ended this thread.

Dont you agree that thats one of PBF best wins. Top 3 for sure. I woudlnt have even mentioned this fight if PBF hadnt fought Hernandez and gotten so much praise for it.

DLH is nothing more than a Ross Purity type. He fights the best but ends up coming short when it matters. DOH!!

    Ross Purrity's resume:

    Kirk Johnson
    Tommy Morrison
    Hasim Rahman
    Michael Grant
    Corrie Sanders
    Larry Donald
    Chris Byrd
    Wladimir Klichsko
    Vitali Klichsko

Just because he didnt beat them all doesnt mean he shouldnt get the praise of having fought them.

Like i said most of his loses could have gone either way or were very close.

PBF wins the big ones, Oscar loses the big ones period. PBF also has victories over Castillo X2, Corrales and Chaves In addition to his wins over Oscar and Hatton.

Going by that logic Purrity is an elite fighter.

i agree his resume is stacked, has 6 titles in 6 divisions compared to pbf's 5.. the reason however he gets the hate because people see him as a fraud using his popularity to cash out big fights. But i do agree he does fight the best out there. Clearly top 50 ATG for me..

DLH and Trinidad have the most stacked resumes out of the late 90s early 00'. This is what made their fight so compelling and they both carried the sport of boxing like champs :good

What I like about DLH...he did fight Quartey and TITO in their primes @147. That's almost like PBF fighting MArgarito and Cotto in their primes.

The idea that an undefeated record means nothing when compared to having fought everyone brings to mind the great fighters of the seventies who fought everyone. Oscar, whatever anyone may say, had an amazing run and will be surely missed (how many times do you see a thread asking who will be the next Oscar?) There was Leonard, then Oscar, and some hungry SOB is gonna fill the void. I just wonder who it will be. But yeah, Oscar was great, his classic stance was almost 1950's, his power was great, and then his good boy looks hid that ferocious streak we loved back in the day. I feel sorry for the kids coming of age judging the tycoon at the end of his days. Oscar in his prime was something else. You knew someone was gonna get knocked out that night. I hope he does good these last fights and proves that a fighter CAN retire with dignity. It would break my heart to see him like Leonard in his fight against Camacho.

People also tend to overlook everything he did pre Trinidad. Which other fighter has half of his career shaved off when being evaluated?

i think i've seen the movie of your avatar before..was that a movie regarding spells and witchcraft?? devil something is the title..?

anyway if you look at oscar's profile. Gold medal plus all the belts in 6 different divisions, plus all the popularity and ppv buys. If you look at it that way, no other man in the history of boxing has ever done what oscar did.

Sure a lot of other fighters would beat him in a prime 4 prime matchup, sure there are others who had more deep resumes than him. But if you look at it all in all, for under 50 pro fights nobody else had accomplished what oscard did.
