Um, ok.

Most people who are beloved to any degree also face a crowd of people who dislike them. Exaggerated for celebrities. Even more so for athletes. And even more so for boxers... You aren't telling me anything new about Khan being disliked.

I was saying that Khan was a huge favorite, which he was, and that the UK fans and media alike were hyping the **** out of his Garcia unification and in their claims insinuated that Khan was going to dominate him in one sided fashion.

And I'm not talking about retrospect in terms of "Oh, we should have seen it coming based on the Peterson fight" like you say. I'm telling you how it was at the time. Almost nobody picked Garcia and those who did were lauded by British fans for being fools.

I could tell you that there were plenty of Americans who didn't believe in Lacy. So what? He was still favored to beat Calzaghe and lost BIG.

 

Not anywhere near as many fans who didn't believe in Khan. Every single one of his fights was televised on terrestrial TV in the UK and we saw him up and down like a yoyo with that glass chin against laughable journeymen.

Every boxing fan knew it was a possibility that Khan got his glass chin cracked in a fight when he appeared to be easily outboxing Garcia. The only question mark was that not many knew anything about Garcia or his power.

Calzaghe completely owning Lacy for 12 rounds, I think it safe to say was much more of a shock to Americans.

If Brook was to fight Broner, I'm sure that Showtime would brainwash fans into thinking Broner is a multi weight legit title holding superman, not mention the dodgy verdicts he has, and that he's the next Floyd Mayweather and that Brook is the more protected fighter of the two.

Then when Broner follows in the trodden path of Lacy, general American public= :shock:
