...aside from Roy Jones Jnr who of course defeated the old ******* with something to spare in 1993

Whilst the old ****s trainer was making a tit of himself in stating that Kessler had not defeated anyone of note and neither for that matter had Calzaghe before hilariously citing the old ****s marquee wins over two blown up welterweights as proof of his awesome competition i found myself asking the question could anyone on Hopkins record actually beat the Viking warrior except superman Roy ?

I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter

Honestly, I don't think anyone on b-hops record could cause kessler problems. Aside from RJJ of course

Jones Jr is the only one, none of the comp that he beat could have. Prime/prime Kessler/Hopkins is also a toss up.

While Calzaghe ist the better of the two (as recently demonstrated), the irony here is that Joe would probably merely UD, Bernard.

    Kessler would stop him.

I must say Winky Wright is a bit more acceptable(although i believe Kessler is a horrible style match up for him especially given the version that was narrowly defeated by Hopkins)

but i cannot for the life of me understand people saying Taylor...especially given recent performances

Yea Taylor and wink could...I'm not saying they'd be favored but they have a chance to beat him.

Don't forget about Glenn Johnson either...he would definitely have a chance to win. I think it would be a 50/50 fight.

Johnson would have troubled Kessler. Jones would have beaten him. Wright is too small. Taylor would probably get stopped as Kessler is a better version of Pavlik.

winky wright IMO at 170lbs was slow of foot and hand and that was against a 42 year old.

i do not see a 168lb winky wright beating kessler.

Johnson's pressure would cause issue's, other than that he has nothing to be considered 50/50. At best Johnson would take some rounds and lose 8-4.

I think Johnson would lose wider than that though.

Hopkins is not the current best LHW, not even close.

Hopkins isn't the best LHW. If he was, he would fight one.
