Is there anyone out there who still doubts Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world?

Pacman is miles ahead of everyone else at the moment. IfFloyd comes back it will be close for P4P #1 but as things stand Pac by far.

    My god.:patsch

I said I refuse to name the best fighter in the world at this time because I don't feel anything is cemented and I don't personally know who it is, but I have repeated that it isn't Pac nor Calzaghe, please read.

He clearly lost, on the correct scoring criteria. He scored 1 KD against JMM in the rematch, count it as 1. JMM also deserved a 10-8 round in round out for brutalising him in 1 sided fashion in the round, Pac was stunned and beaten up.

I had JMM winning by 3 points, competitive but clear, anybody who was good at scoring fights had it for JMM, as it's not hard to score and even you had it for JMM and originally were mad at the score.

I am not coping out. Instead of addressing all of the things I talk of in this thread, you focus on singular elements of my posts and attempt to harp on them, you aren't winning this debate.
    :patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch

    Let me repeat once more.

Calzaghe is not the best fighter in the world at this time.

Brooklyn would have agreed with me!:patsch

Here is the main debate I have had with Pacfans -

    - Defeating David Diaz or a similiar level fighter, even impressively, doesn't move anybody up in the P4P rankings on the standard scale or on a performance judgement scale. A generic, 2nd tier fighter does not do that for you.

You stated that P4P #1 was vacant until somebody did something special, yet move in Pac for beating Diaz, that's something special?

    This is the problem.

And when I have spoken about 'the best fighter in the world', I am not speaking about resume or accomplishments from that end, but this is all you want to argue with 'who has performed at the top level consistently more', it's not the same analysis.

    1) Pacman didn't perform well against JMM either.
    2) Hopkins made it hard for Calzaghe to perform, since he clinched all the time. Still Calzaghe won decisively. That it wasn't pretty is something else.
    3) One less stellar performance, while you still win against a top rank boxer, does not put you lower.

Pacquiao performed extremely well against Marquez, who also performed extremely well.

 ...and Calzaghe was downed by an old retirable Hops...Compare that with the manner of Pac's victory..

Pretty ridiculous, that's how anti-Pacs utterly sounded in here...:nut And JMM winning 2? My God, grow up and deal with reality losers....:barf:|

I have doubts about it, but I rank him there currently. This is right after a big fight, so people are overreacting. The reaction will be the same if Cotto decimates Margarito in a similar fashion. Watch....

If Cotto decimates Margarito in similar fashion, the debate is up there as to who is the best. Margarito is no push over.

When PBF retired ... Pac was the only man deserving of that #1 ranking ... I think he is the only definition of what p4p means.

Very true. Though some will disagree. Margarito has proven himself a top WW and a tough tough fighter with better skills than some give credit for. If Cotto blows him out, it will be up for debate.

I didn't vote in the poll. It doesn't match the question. I rate Pacquiao #1. Do I have doubts about that ranking? Yup....but not because he isn't good, but because Cotto could do something similar to a better fighter and because JMM could do something similar to Casamayor (who is old and past it....I still think he would make David Diaz look silly)

Wait a second. Margarito is twice the fighter David Diaz ever was, so Cotto destroying the likes of Antonio is far more impressive than what Manny achieved last night.
