Just curious, there are very few fights in which he made boring and the guy had power in both hands, not to mention the best left hook of the time (I think his was better than DLH).
Any reason? He beat some solid fighter in vargas, DLH (controversial), joppy, Camacho, and a very bad whitaker. His only loses were to either great fighters or later in his career and that can't be argued.
I like Tito but he lost the DLH fight clearly. The low blows in the Vargas fight were pretty shady on his part too. Good fighter though one of the best in his Era but he does get highly overrated on ESB.....Im sorry but H2h Trinidad would never have made it into the 3rd with Tommy Hearns but some idiots here swear he would have beat him.
I was never a huge Tito fan when he was active. Probably not really his fault, it would have been damn near impossible to live up to all that hype.
De La Hoya was denied a defining victory against Trinidad, which has always annoyed the **** out of me.
Hearns would blast out Trinidad early. He was faster, stronger and a better boxer all around, toss in his extreme punching power and He puts Tito to sleep early just like he did Duran.
I liked him.......loved his left hook, spent alot of time in the gym trying to emulate it.......without much success!
Off course! there is. I am one of them because he always cheated his opponents by wrapping his hands illegally. How could a skinny fighter like him hit that hard?
Ask hearns the same question. As for the De La Hoya fight, DLH gave that one away, although I still think he won, there was no excuse for what he did. I also agree with the person who said hearns would blast him out in 3 rounds. He was known to get kd early in fights, so its logical to believe that one that possessed the power that tommy had would ko him early, or at the very least rack up a few kds.
Look at what happened to Trinidude when his cheat was found out. Hopkins KTFO Trinidad when the latter could not wrap his hands that way.:happy
