Whether you agree or not, the issues surrounding his wraps tainted some of his wins and reputation. But, being a reasonable person, I can't find him guilty without proof. But I can have doubt. Anyhow, out of all the Puerto Rican fighters I have seen, I'd say he is numero dos. Wilfredo Gomez being numero uno.
Trinidad was a must for me since the first time I watched a skinny kid destroy Maurice Blocker. <~ Since then I never missed a fight.
I rooted for him against De La Hoya, who I didn't rate that highly at the time and because I found Tito more entertaining to watch. But the win over De La Hoya was tainted and turned me from being neutral towards him to wanting to see him get beaten. Was happy when my man Bhop finally ended Tito's run.
No way. Even Mayorga was asked who hit harder and Mayorga said Oscar did. I mean, it took Oscar all of 90 seconds to left hook him on his ass, and took Tito a couple free left hooks and 4-5 rounds to do it.
I actually liked Tito, but not in the way he was given that gift against Oscar. It was a shady fuking win, the whole world knew it but he walked around like there were no controversy, like he wasnt outpunched by 100 punches and had his face fuked up. He barely landed a clean punch on Oscar but the way he acted you'd think he won a clear UD or KO. Kinda the same thing Mosley did in 2nd fight with Oscar. You could see the loser all over his face until the announcement and them him and his dad are laughing when they heard Oscar wanted to launch an investigation and didn't want to entertain the fact it was a sketchy win.
A video that was cut off on HBO ppv indicating that Oscar illegally wrapped his hands. Look that **** up if you don't believe me.
IDK But from what i see Hearns and Duran are the most over rated on ESB even more so than paq. Tito was loved by me and i could see him having a great chance against all 3 Heanrs due to his china chin paq due to a weak chin and pathetic D and duran due to the reach diff
Take a good look at the first round of DLH vs Mayorga, Ricardo is the reason he got himself dropped so quickly, he showed Zero respect for DLH, walked to him and went in for an exchange and got dropped, DLH knew that Mayorga would come right to him as he does everybody he just sat down on his left hook with his defense tight and hit him with everything he had. The Trinidad VS Mayorga bout you didnt see that, you saw Mayorga with his hands up trying to work in there he respected Titos power more than Oscars which is why he lasted longer and did a little better in that fight
Always a fan. Always tension when he fought and usually a late starter, thats why I was shocked he,went after Vargas so early. I guess Vargas really must of pissed Tito off, but if not for the early onslaught and low blows there's a good chance Vargas might of upset Tito. He was alittle flawed, shaky balance and chin, and to some one dimensional, but he could box alittle. Had explosive power, but I think it was overrated. Bonafide ko puncher yes, great at putting punches together, but not a one punch ko artist. Part of the reason what made him exciting.
