Is there anyone who still doubts Froch was about to KTFO groves in fight 1?

How do you know Groves was about to get stopped? For all we know he may have got a second wind and Froch was getting rocked every time he got hit.

The stoppage was crap and poor and robbed everyone of a complete ending.

And I fully agree but to say that the poor stoppage wasn't poor due to the fact Froch would of done this or that is incorrect imo.

I don't know what that has to do with anything tbh, a bad stoppage or a premature stoppage is no good regardless of who's fighting.

No he doesn't. I don't know what was going to happen afterwards but what I do know is there was no justification for that stoppage

 

It’s all shoulda, woulda, coulda. It was a bad stoppage how ever you look at it ! The boxing logic in me says Froch did have Groves hurt and being a great finisher like Froch was he probably would have ended it but that doesn’t mean the referee should stop in ? By that logic should the fight even of happened if it was such a forgone conclusion ? Why not just declare Froch the winner before the fight starts ?

 

The rematch cleared all this up imo

Premature stoppage without doubt. However MOST folk did think he woulda finished him off regardless. Only a small minority on here thought otherwise. So I don't get what point your making

 

George was totally spent, Froch would, barring an unforeseen slip/injury, have beaten Groves to a standstill.
Stoppage saved GG punishment and gave him a lucrative rematch, best thing that ever happened in his career.

 

The guy is an idiot. He finds the ultimate troll comments and then passes them off as general consensus.

"Froch is overrated , his chin is average and his resume is hype" - i mean who has ever said that about froch other than idiots? Its a common matchroom fanboy tactic.

 

The stoppage was premature but Groves was tiring badly by that point and Carl was taking over it was only a matter of time.
