I don't think a lot of people in this thread are rating Golovkins actual boxing skills and ring intelligence enough. After studying some film I feel that Gennady would win if they had the exact same size, chin and power.
I don't think the fight goes longer than 4-5 rounds. Brook is susceptible to body shots and I think that's what'll finish him. I can see Brook being dropped in every round and being in survival mode after the 1st round. It's a shame as I really like Brook but I saw enough in the Carson Jones fight to suggest that he doesn't deal with adversity or pressure well. The Porter fight was relatively s****py. So against a man much bigger, much harder hitting and also a smart technician, I can only see disaster for him unfortunately.
Brook got a good win against Porter, absolutely. But it was a SD. It's not like he walked in and blitzed Porter out of there in 0.3 seconds. Plus, it's a GOOD win. Thurman has beaten Porter too, perhaps a little more conclusively in my opinion. Would we then rate Thurman's chances at MW? The only redemption Brook has is that he's big at WW, but in moving up he loses that asset. Is Brook a more talented fighter than say Lemieux? Sure, but that doesn't make him a tough test two weights up. "Golovkin has only fought brawlers so far" is just so painfully wrong by the way. All the same, there are quite a few on Twitter who think Brook wins on points somehow. Although the best comment about this fight I've seen so far was from Facebook: "Brook is a much better boxer, that's why he has more decision wins than Golovkin does"
Its because he is sold as this KO artist when infact his boxing skills and IQ are elite level. I would say he isnt a devastating puncher but he get in the right positions and land flush.
Don't think this will end well for brook.he is not fast enough or hard hitting enough to survive.I keep thinking of the the Carson Jones fight brook was lucky not to get Knocked out.bad move I think.
I suspect Dwyer of Gamblers Advisory will tell people to bet on Brook. I remember him saying that he would pick Shawn Porter to beat GGG.
If Brook went life and death against Porter, he will realize that it is a whole different ballgame against GGG.
Best bet for Brook would be to get a "Home stoppage" let the ref jump in a bit early like they do & save Kell's from the KO & give GEE the TKO. (Streak continues & everyone is happy... Brook can say he wasn't hurt ect..)
Didn't brook get dropped in sparring before pulling out of the Chavez fight? Ggg loves going to the body and I think he'll look to work under kells one-two
Na you're not the only one mate. Brook's a fantastic figher himself and the size difference wont be all that But Golovkin.... well Golovkin's Golovkin Reckon he'd beat the fake Mexican fatty boy coward though
I think Brook has a chance of Fiddling his way to a win, a lot of Holding, Clinching, Movement, Pot Shots and clever use of the Head. With Home advantage etc, its possible, although I think even with that its 70/30 in Golovkin's Favour
