Nah, Pacman has lost too much stature to give him that much of a boost-up.

Even back during the height of Mayweather vs. Pacquiao mania, it wouldn't have IMO been the crowning achievement lots of folks convinced themselves it would have been.

lol guys are crazy in this forum.. floyd weighed in at 150 30 days before his 152 fight.. then people call for him to fight 160-168 guys who are coming from 180's.. you realise how stupid this is right?

I hate all this he can't be GOAT because of ray robinson etc.. and how al the old guys had so many fights... so we're basically saying these old figthers are the best to ever live and always will be because no fighters will ever have that many fights anymore... it isn't possible with ppv.. and they don't have to anymore. I mean iv no idea on other champions to be honest.. did ray leanord beat 20 world champions? I can't imagine so...ray leanords defining win was hagler yet i thought he lost and he ran the whole fight. Can you imagine if floyd did that? he'd get criticized so badly.

If floyd beats canelo and its some kind of war he'l get so much credit yet he gets no credit for his ability to make A fighters look like C.. so much stupidity.

Beats Canelo, Garcia/Matthysse winner, Martinez, GGG and then Ward he'd clearly be the GOAT for me.
I think Canelo beats him for a start though.

Well it's always like this in boxing. Wait another 10 years and Floyd will get the recognition I feel he deserve.

I have him between 30 and 40 somewhere, i highly doubt with his matchmaking he can hit the top 25.

He was just too inactive and missed too many fighters to be in contention for top 25 let alone a goat discussion.
That said this was never his goal and he made that very clear, he wants to make the most money possible with the least amount of risk.

Yes with as bad as the welterweights of his era were there were too many misses as well.

    Prime Margarito
    Prime Pac
    Prime Cotto
    Prime Mosley

    Were all missed by Floyd.

There have been many wleterweights in history who could have beat the same stiffs that Floyd beat. Victor Ortiz and Shamba Mitchell

Beside travelling back in time to an earlier era, there is nothing he can do. To even be considered GOAT you apparently have to have boxed ages ago.

Margarito was never relevant to Mayweather's career. Only some fringe wackos believe that he was.

When people claim it should have taken place, it wasn't the most relevant match-up at the weight except in a few Margarito fan boys' minds.

...and of course, in the speech (though not the minds, as deep down they all knew/know better) of Mayweather haters. :deal

No. Maybe not even top five.

No because he doesnt have the fighters left to do so. Even if he did people still wouldnt give him that title. Same with Lebron, Kobe, Brady, Manning etc... People prefer the old...

What would beating a "prime marg" have done?

Marg isnt a fighter who moves you up atg rankings, MArg hasnt accomplished enough. He was a career ww ffs and was in the division when forrest, dlh, shane, mayorga, spinks and judah were there and didnt fight any of them. WHY? Does everyone duck marg?

    He won't surpass Ray Robinson.
