Other than really bad scoring, has there ever a LEGITIMATE case where a fighter has excused their loss in a fight?

I curious what examples people will come up with.

    Yes. A broken big toe.

Haye would've KO'd Vlad without it.

Even if the excuse is legit, it is not legit and noone should use it.

You win you win, you lose you lose. You are not in good conditions for a fight you dont fight. Period.

Taking the recognition away from your opponent is not something that men do, rats maybe, men dont.

So Andre Ward should be fully credited for his win over Chad Dawson despite the fact that Mirando knocked him out during training camp?

I'm not saying a loss should ever be viewed as a win, but should a loss ever be viewed as a NC?

    Give an example

I talk about the fighters, not the aficionados. 99% aficionados dksab, I dont care if they give credit or not, but a fighter using excuses after he lost really gets on my nerves.

Men dont use excuses, men ask for revenge and avenge their loses.

Yes Lomachenko has a legitimate gripe for his loss against Laurence Cole when Orlando Salido was the 3rd man in ring :nod

DLH condition when he fought pac

yes its his fault but had he been 100% who knows what could have happened

    pulled muscles
    broken jaws
    broken hands
even broken feet can all affect the victims ability to preform especially if their style relays on one of these

you dont want to have broken feet if your a mover

you dont want to be a big puncher who relays on your power if your hands are broken

If you knock someone out with a legal punch and the ref erroneously rules that the punch was illegal and DQs you, that's a legit excuse for a loss. Something like that are the only legit excuses in my opinion.

You can make fun of me if you want to, but had khan avenged his loses vs garcía and peterson (not so hard to achieve tbh) and beaten maidana a second time to shut up his haters (i'm one of them btw), no one would be laughing at him. Had pacman stfu, give credit to floyd, asked for a rematch and beaten him, no one would make fun of him.

Lomachenko didn't make any excuses though. Neither did Agbeko after being mugged by Mares and the ref Russell Mora in their first fight. Hearns broke his hand in the first or second round against Hagler and never made an excuse. I can't think of a legitimate excuse for a loss, even bad scoring.

He may not have made an excuse, but I'd have no problem if he had :good
