This is an interesting one. Moore, in his late 40s and two fights from retirement, drew with a future champ and Hall-of-Famer! Note that this was a majority draw, and the non-drawing judge had it for Moore. I also believe Moore decked him during the match. Don't know about the film, though.
This much I know, that Pastrano was only down once in his career, and that was from that left to the liver from Jose Torres in the 6th round of his last fight, when he surrendered the lightheavy crown to Torres. Moore staggered him real bad in one of the rounds, but he didn't deck him.
Good fight with Johnson working the jab consistently thoughout the bout. Harold worked some good combinations and scored often enough with the straight right. IMO Johnson was robbed of the decision but there are some who disagree. Never seen Moore-Pastrano on any list.
I guess this shot- http://pro.corbis.com/search/searchFrame.aspx - gave me the impression that Moore had scored a knockdown when Pastrano was actually saved by the ropes (looks like a technical knockdown with a modern ref, though).
It may have very been of the technical variety, but officially, Pastrano was never knocked down until Torres caught him with that left hook to the liver.
